Playlist that (should) be open for some tunes to listen to while reading: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/4uVLKPVPHoJSqytncMuVCr?si=ltVIhK6FQA2dFRykRtNNlA There's no order so listen to whatever catches your eye About you | Yo, I'm Aki Shrimpguy, it/he pronouns. I'm just a guy who likes to play the tuba, explode over roleplaying games, act in theatre, and draw, among other things. Who are you applying for? | Gelidkit! Why are you applying? | I like his design. Little guy looks so polite he just drew me in Character history & Longevity | Over the years, I feel as if my character longevity's improved with my characters. While my earlier guys, Outlookcranny and Tarantulajay, didn't live past 6 months, my characters onward — Geodecrackle, Swabmelody, Taigavow, Forest's Fable, Claymorecrusade, Sweetswan — had/have all been alive for a decent handful of months. Kit personality | At first glance, Gelidkit just seems to be a quieter optimist, taking after his da and her endless lookout for good. And he does try to see the bright side of life, don’t get that wrong; he loves stopping to smell the roses. Sometimes the roses just don’t smell like anything, and the feelings inside it get all tangled up and it can’t decipher specific feels. Gelid can be as patient as he can try, but that persistent lack of ambition leaves him bound to the nest, wanting to get up and do the things he loves but being simply unable to. Gelidkit tries. Sometimes its efforts outweigh the paramount emptiness accompanying him, and sometimes they don’t. But they try nonetheless. [+] Polite, thoughtful, optimistic, tolerant [=] Quiet, philosophical [-] Emotional, detrimentally unambitious, withdrawn
Research | Depression is hard to nail down the symptoms for. There’s multiple different types of depression, each manifesting in its own way. I’m choosing not to specify what specific type of depression Gelid has, as I am also unsure of the type of depression I have (I remain undiagnosed by a professional). However, depression isn’t just being gloomy and sad all of the time. It usually comes in bouts of tiredness, lack of interest in doing anything, low self-esteem, and even things like outbursts of anger and unexplained physical problems like headaches and other pains. In the case of Gelidkit, they would most often experience lack of interest, increased worry and blaming himself over past mistakes, and more frequent outbursts of anger. Those are a lot of what I tend to experience on my bad days, and like myself the severity of Gelid’s symptoms vary from low to low. But it still has good days and with time will surely develop strategies and methods for coping with the low days, one in particular revolving around being by flowers because those are one of the things it associates with warmth and happiness. These rambles tend to include a lot of physical movement, or simply showing the other cat(s) the thing he found interesting - The application title is from the song of the same name, which I believe fits Gelid pretty well! TFC Codewords | Y’know, something I find interesting is how often quiet is associated with blue and wintertime. I mean, I get it, blue’s a cooler color and winter’s often quiet with all the trees dead, but I’d have two nickels if I got one for every character I knew with blue hair who was also associated with winter in some way.
