He loves the world, even if sometimes it feels like the world doesn’t love him back. He’ll give and give until there is nothing left as long as it means that something good will happen at the end. It doesn’t matter if it’s as small as him keeping a cocoon hidden and safe to see it emerge as a beautiful butterfly- or as big as letting someone yell at him to see them smile once the anger is gone. It all means the world to him. He has always believed that the smallest things matter most. He’ll tilt his head back to watch the clouds drift, or pause mid-step to admire the way sunlight turns a puddle into a pool of gold. Where others see nothing, he sees entire worlds. They are beautiful and fleeting, overlooked until Water-lilykit’s pink eyes pick them out of the hubbub of life. Sometimes he’ll point out little untouched pieces of nature to others, just to have someone to share in what he sees. He doesn’t mind that maybe those same things won’t be as beautiful to them. Water-lilykit is a dreamer, drifting off into his own personal fantasies. He’ll crawl to a line of ants and make up stories about them, about the adventures they fight and the food they’ll find. He’ll offer them scraps of prey and imagine what kind of stories they’ll tell their queen, once they bring it home. He is unflinchingly patient in ways that others are not. He will sit for what feels like forever just to see a flower open, or to hear the faintest croak of a frog hidden deep in the reeds. Where others grow restless, Water-lilykit waits, content in the stillness. He believes that some things only reveal themselves to those willing to linger, and so he lingers gladly, no matter how long it takes. Sometimes, Water-lilykit forgets where he begins and others end. He’ll give away parts of himself, so quickly… so easily. If someone is sad, he’ll sit with them until they feel less alone. If someone is angry, he’ll listen and let the storm pass, even as the bouts of lightning fall on him. He will pour himself out for those around him, leaving little left for his own heart. He tells himself it doesn’t matter... that if someone else smiles, it’s enough. But when he's alone, and the quiet settles in around him, he wonders if anyone would really do the same for him. Water-lilykit knows that his paws won’t carry him the same way others do. Things that will be easy for others- running, jumping… existing even, can sometimes be an insurmountable hurdle to him. They take more energy, more time. But he finds other paths where he can. And even if sometimes other cats make him feel lesser, he does his best to move past it. After all, there is so much beauty in the world, and Water-lilykit would rather focus on that than the self doubt in his chest. ⇷———————༻❀༺———————⇸ ❀ Shortened Personality ❀ (+) Gentle, Adaptable, Empathetic (=) Daydreamer, Selfless, Soft-spoken (-) Self-effacing, Not communicative, Unconfident Likes: ╰—⇸ Other cats ╰—⇸ Nature ╰—⇸ Storytelling Dislikes: ╰—⇸ Heights ╰—⇸ Heavy Winds ⇷———————༻❀༺———————⇸
❀ Research ❀ Radial aplasia is defined as a congenital defect which affects the formation of the radius bone in the arm. Aplasia in particular means that the radius is completely absent, and a cat's leg goes straight from the ulna to the carpals(wrist bones) with no bones in between, giving the cat’s front limbs an almost flipper-like appearance. Other bones in their front limbs may also be shortened or twisted. It can be inherited or a random developmental anomaly, but in both cases the cause is genetic. It is thought to be related to polydactyly in cats. Cats with this condition are unable to bear weight normally on their front legs due to their deformed shape. The hind legs of cats with radial hypoplasia or aplasia are usually completely normal, This leads them to using some unusual movement, such as running on their hind legs, crawling on their elbows, or hopping. Cats with this radial aplasia are sometimes referred to as kangaroo cats because of this. They also tend to have trouble getting down from high places due to the unusual shape. This condition isn’t usually painful, but due to their abnormal movements, it does mean that skin abrasions, arthritis, or pressure sores can develop over time. There are no good treatments for radial hypoplasia. The use of splints and bandages has been tried, and surgery can be an option, but these methods do not usually make a large difference to the condition. For Water-lilykit, his paws are slightly twisted towards his chest, which leads to him usually crawling on his elbows, or hopping around if he is excited(or trying to move fast). As he’s young he will likely struggle a lot, especially with heights and generally balance. He’d probably spend a lot of time in the medicine den due to falling/stepping on things his elbows are not equipped to handle, which will impact his confidence. As he grows older, gets practice moving, and especially as he learns to fly, he will likely find it easier to move around and likely gain some of that confidence back. He will also likely develop arthritis pretty young unfortunately(maybe at like 40/50 moons, though signs may start to appear a lot earlier), due to how active clan cats tend to be and how he moves around. ⇷———————༻?❀?༺———————⇸ “I’ll believe it all… I won’t let go of your hand.” ⇷———————༻?❀?༺———————⇸ ?
