(Previous chapter: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1212553377/ ) As Callie drifted off to sleep, she started dreaming. It was a jumble of things. She had the flashbacks again, mostly when she first found her Solver, each time more vivid than the last. She woke up multiple times. At 3 am was the last straw. She got up, obviously tired. “God, can’t get sleep at all.” She walked over to her mirror, which was cracked from yesterday. The Solver symbol appeared on her visor for a moment, but disappeared as soon as it appeared. However, it still freaked Callie out. She needed to talk to someone about it. After a moment of thinking, who else would be better than Nori? After all, she had been in Cabin Fever Labs, along with Callie’s parents. Callie knew that Nori liked to stay outside of the base at night, she just had to hope that she didn’t go back in. Callie walked out of her room, and headed to the first door, using the master key card to open it. She’d give it back to Uzi later. She walked outside, the snow crunching under her. A bit of walking later, and there was Nori, looking out at the view. Callie had to walk all the way over to Nori, considering that she was now just a core. Nori surprisingly didn’t give the reason for this, even though her and Callie had a fairly good relationship. “Nori?” Nori turned around suddenly, trying to use her Solver, but quickly realizing that it was Callie and couldn’t use it on her, because they both had the Solver. “Oh, it’s just you. What are you doing out so late?” Nori asked. “I wanted to talk with you. I have some things on my mind.” “Oh, Uzi told me about what happened earlier with you and Cyn. I don’t think anything major should happen, especially because you were able to fight it off.” “It’s not just that, it’s…” Callie sighed. “When Cyn possessed me, right after I managed to fight it off, I had flashbacks. Not the greatest moments either. Then when I was trying to sleep, I had them again, the flashback when I first discovered my Solver getting vivider and vivider. I’m worried that something might happen.” She said quietly. “…I would suggest the Crucifix Patch, but…” “It got destroyed, yeah.” “…I’ll have a talk with Cyn. In the meantime, if it happens again, just fight it off like you did before.” Nori said finally, starting to walk away. “Oh, one more thing.” “Yes, Nori?” “Get to bed. It’s almost 4 in the morning. I’m going to bed too.” And with that, Nori started walking away. Callie watched her walk away, sighing softly. She walked back to her room a few minutes later, about to go back to sleep, when the Solver symbol appeared on her visor again, disappearing a moment later. Callie didn’t realize it. [In Uzi’s room.] Uzi and Nori were in Uzi’s room, Nori questioning Cyn harshly. “Cyn, why’d the hell did you do that?!” “Confused. Do what?” “You know what!” “Oh. That. I cannot have a bit of fun?” Cyn asked, looking up at Nori. “I- wha- NO! You can’t! You have a twisted humor.” “Eye roll. I am a program after all. And speaking of fun, I’ll have some right now.” “Cyn, don’t you dare!” Nori yelled, but it was too late, as Cyn had left Uzi’s tail. “Uzi, come on!” Nori ran out of Uzi’s room, Uzi following right behind. Nori ran to Callie’s room, using her Solver to get the door open quickly. [In Callie’s room, before Nori questioned Cyn.] Callie was right about to get to bed, actually this time. However, her eyes flashed yellow for a moment, then went back to their normal teal. Callie noticed this, starting to freak out. 5 minutes after that, her eyes turned yellow again, staying that color as Callie tried to fight it off but failing. Cyn had managed to take control as Nori got the door open. Callie, or rather Cyn, turned to Nori. “Giggle. Hello again, Nori. Let’s have some…fun.” End of chapter 3.
