They help pollinate certain crops that we eat as food and if they were gone, those crops would likely be gone too. Also, their extinction would cause a chain reaction of predators and prey being thrown out of balance. People have been trying to save the Monarch Butterfly population to avoid these effects, and it has been working. But not all of us are doing what we can. What can WE do to save one of the most efficient pollinators in the world? Here are 3 easy ideas: 1-Plant native pollinator-friendly plants! Monarchs love Milkweed, Goldenrod, Coneflower, Wild Bergamot, Yarrow, Red Sunflower and a handful more! 2-If you see one in its natural environment, do not disturb it. Don't try to catch it or grab it or take it away from what it was doing. And to keep their natural environment healthy, don't litter or throw trash outside; it pollutes the air. 3-Raise awareness on Scratch! Made completely by me. I raised 2 Monarchs last Summer with my sister, @emmy_ruby. She named the smaller one Kirby and I named the bigger one Kraken. We grew them successfully and they ended up being perfect males! It was sad seeing them go, but this year, we are going to plant our own pollinator garden and raise as many as we can to give them the best chance of survival. Thanks for watching!
