its been awhile since ive posted something on scratch and realized ive read a lot over the last couple of days. here are some book ratings (aswell as some other things)! -- the song of achilles (madeline miller) words cannot express how good the song of achilles is. 10/10, easy. - id say this book is for mature ya readers (and adults, of course) in terms of age rating. there are pretty complex themes, which do require a higher level of maturity, but overall i think its a really great read. the song of achilles is a retelling of the trojan war, from patroclus's pov. the novel starts with them meeting in their youth, their small interactions slowly blossoming into this.. sorta profound, gutwrenching love as they grow older. it took me two and a half days to finish it. i could honestly yap about the song of achilles for ages.. but to sum, i really really really enjoyed it. highly reccomend. the sun and the star (rick riordan, mark oshiro) nostalgic, pretty cute. an easy read. i really enjoyed seeing one of my fav ships in their own standalone!! 8/10. - this book is suitable for grades five & up, i think, since its written by a childrens author. i read the original pjo series as a child, and its nice seeing this relatively new installment about nico and will. there are some mature topics in this book. i think the ending was a little kinda cheesy.. though.. but its okay!! 3/4's of the novel were really nice. the imagery is reallyy fun to read. i also really loved the references made in the book. the book is pretty much nico and will's entire journey through tartarus, since they have a prophecy to fulfill. pretty cute and nostalgic. id recommend this to some of my friends younger siblings if theyre into greek mythology/pjo. if only i had told her (laura nowlin) i read this a few months after i finished if he had been with me. i liked this one a lot more than if he had been with me, i think. really really really sad, but still really amazing. 9/10. where do i start?? holy crap, this was a rollercoaster of emotions. i really dont wanna spoil this. id say this book is ya. there are some mature themes & swearing. heartbreaking, but so worth it. i loved the different povs in the story. there are a lot of references to autumn's (pov of if he had been with me) thoughts in this book (mainly finn's, but some other people have their own little sections in the book too). id recommend reading if he had been with me before if only i had told her. the ending was pretty.. eh.. but i really enjoyed this read. the plot twist hurt me though /hj -- but anyways thanks so much for reading all of that!! it took me awhile to type and im lwk fallin asleep rn.. icl.. i want to yap about the song of achilles so bad, but i dont know anyone who has read it :,) ill see yall around sometime soon ^^.
