After the ultimatum from Astanislavia to restore the previous government as a response to Institutional Act 5, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Roberto Fernandes, gave a speech representing Mersiva in this threat to the future of the dictatorship. At the beginning, he said that AI-5 is aimed at bringing better control to the current situation of instability in Mersiva. After that, Roberto mainly spoke about a Sovereign Mersiva, declaring that no country can ever truly intervene in a nation. He stated that Mersiva does not bow to external pressure, that its history was built with the sacrifices of its people, and that foreign forces will not dictate the course of the nation. He also said that any attempt at interference would be treated as a direct attack on national integrity, reinforcing that Mersiva owes loyalty only to its people and never to foreign interests. In the end, the minister emphasized that the government’s position is non-negotiable and that Mersiva will defend its leader and independence with every legitimate means at its disposal. Mersiva is, and will remain, under its current leadership.
