join the gershwin cult. the songs in the project is: these charming people, that certain feeling, tiptoes, lady luck, nice baby, its a great little world BUT, its only clippings that I obtained off of the Gershwin website. and why is that? BECAUSE THE FULL concert RECORDING OF TIP TOES ISNT ANYWHERE ON THE INTERNET! however, there is a CD you can buy AND IT ALSO HAS THE Tell me more STUDIO RECORDING WITH IT. but its like 30 bucks I think. I'm going to ask my mom to buy it for me and also I think there are used ones you can buy for less and I'm not a collector per se, I'm an enjoyer SO AS LONG AS IT PLAYS AND THE AUDIO QUALITY IS GOOD I DONT CARE!!!!! there's this guy, JACKSON UPPERCO, who runs a blog called; THATS ENTERTAINMENT! which is very very lovely and he talks about old sitcoms and other stuff but I haven't really looked at anything except for HIS POSTS ABOUT GERSHWIN MUSICALS of which I have been able to obtain more info and also SONGS. he has the tiptoes cast recording but he's hoarding it. he only linked nice baby and tiptoes (which I now have in full from piracy) he also has stuff from Rosalie he's hoarding hoaRDER!!!!!!!! ok but like, listening to the rosalie stuff and the tiptoes stuff today JUST GETTING A TASTE OF IT HEAVEN HEAVEN ON EARTH reach up high, pull down the sky....make this a heaven on earth....cant go wrong singing a song....(wistful) especially THESE CHARMING PEOPLE OMG OMG OMG IT WAS JUST SO HEALING AND JOYOUS AND PERFECT if I get the full version it will be my favorite song ever maybe. right now my favorite song is supposed to be as if you read my mind by Stevie wonder but I over listened to it one of my favorite songs of all time is The red shoes by IU its big band jazz and it felt very 20s but its kpop and when I listened to it a lot it was because I really wanted to hear more stuff like it because it was just so heavenly and now I finally found my way to the motherlode of things that I really really really like, THE OLD FASHION AND JAZZ I LOVE JAZZ SOMUCH this isn't like the red shoes, its showtunes these are showtunes and I love showtunes and I love gershwin I like Vincent youmans too and Jerome Kern kind of but I'm more casual and sane with them and like I just like hit the deck, no no nanette, and a few other songs sprinkled here and there because of the 50s Vincent youmans movies of the musicalsi just mentioned, they used songs from other Vincent youmans musicals. I would probably get more into Vincent youmans if i could find other musicals with recordings for him. with Jerome Kern its just very good eddie and ROBERTA. I would like to get more into them but either its not very accessible or I don't have as much drive to because George Gershwin isjustsoso soso good. my goal is to have listened to every george Gershwin song ever.... and learn the lyrics to all the songs in one George Gershwin musical. I know lyrics from all the songs in oh Kay except for ain't it romantic. but I don't know all the lyrics to all the songs in FULL yet........ but knowing *most* of the lyrics to all the songs will be enough for me. I know some lyrics to every song in lady be good, but I don't think I actually know any of the songs in full from lady be good except for juanita. i know most of the songs from of thee i sing in snippets, i've got the first 3 songs mostly down. ive got who cares down perfectly (lyrics wise). and like, other musicals too- OK BACK TO TIPTOES sooo, i know sweet and lowdown perfectly(i think?), the only reason i dont know the full lyrics to that certain feeling is because the covers i've heard DONT SING THE FULL SONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thats why it'll be extra extra important to getthe studio recording of tiptoes because i need all the knowledge and then ill feel much better than everybody else ahahahaha... ooh so my mother and father, old stuff phase wise(now) my old fashioned mother is the sheet music lady and my father is jackson upperco I LOVE THE SHEET MUSIC LADY, she likes no no Nanette and she gives the full lyrics and like an overview of the song and its history in the description of her videos and I love her so much for it she does covers of tin pan alley songs and old musical stuff (WHAT I LIKE!) so shes just so so so so so awesome you know, when I first got into this stuff I was like: ahaha I'm gonna come across a supremacist one of these days because those times were 'different' so some of the people who like this stuff liked the 'different' times part but I didn't think I'd actually like find one so soon because the people who like this stuff are probably also educated and so I was looking at this guy on youtube who had been uploading his old records AND HE HAD A CONFEDERACY FLAG AND CONFEDERACY MEMORABILIA!!!!!! AAAAAAAAA!!!!! but I don't think sheet music lady is like that. or at least I hope shes not, but I just have to be kind of wary you know? she could be like that, but she seems more educated and cool...IDK
that certain feeling i get when i listen to a new (to me) gershwin musical recording it makes the world seem right (i've got to be there....) THERES NOBODY ELSE (my age) ON THIS BANDWAGON WAAAAAHHHHHHHH but at the same time I don't want there to be, or else I'll lose all my uniqueness- I'll be incredibly bitter when I meet another Gershwin fan. tip toes story will be so fire. I have the Wikipedia overview, but there may be more in the CDs, I know there will be *some* character dialogue, but what I'm talking about is the pamphlet that comes with CDs, it may have the synopsis and even lyrics!!!! the listing for the sweet little devil cd (I want that too) said it came with a synopsis and lyrics. these recordings were made by different companies though so... and maan I am a really bad child. but I think my mom will always get me something for Christmas Even if my dad only gives me coal. so I'm going to ask that way. and also get more into Cole porter he's the top
