Ashen winds swept across the desolate plane. Empty. That’s all it was now. Ashton Grimshadow stood at the edge of what used to be everything — and now, was nothing. Fran. Anura. Even Scott. Gone. Lost in the chaos of the Fracture. He dropped to his knees. Rage churned behind his eyes, boiling in his chest. This place… his home… the only place that ever accepted him — scattered like ash in the wind. The DoodleVerse was broken. And yet… Fran has to be alive. She was a goddess, after all. Gods don’t die — not like the rest. That thought alone was enough to hold back the hopelessness… barely. Around him, fragments of reality drifted — shards of buildings, echoes of old laughter, torn sketches, symbols — all suspended midair, lightless. The once-brilliant sky was void now. Colorless. Ash stood. His jaw clenched. “If no one else is left… then it has to be me.” He clenched his fists, green flames licking up his arms. The darkness in him surged, but with it came something more — resolve. “I am the God of Darkness,” he whispered. “But even darkness can bring light.” And then he rose. His feet left the ground, emerald fire bursting into wings as he ascended. Higher. Higher. Until the scattered bits of land looked like dust on a piece of blank paper. And then — He ignited. A sphere of light erupted around him, blinding green fire sweeping across the void, pushing back the endless black. For the first time in what felt like an eternity — a dawn. He fell. Back to the shattered earth. Back to his knees. The fire dimmed. “I can’t do this alone.” He was exhausted. But he would start. He would find who was left. He would rebuild. Ashton Grimshadow — god of darkness — rose again, and stepped into the remains of the Doodleverse.
