Welcome to an interactive introduction to Kathak footwork! Kathak is an Indian classical dance form, originating in north India. It uses an intricate combination of gestures, expression, and feet to convey stories or display more technical, rhythmic footwork pieces. The instructions below will allow you to move my feet to create different patterns of sound. Each part of the foot (the whole foot, toes, and heel) can make a different sound! Can you make a cool rhythm? How fast can you go? Instructions: space - neutral foot position right arrow - right strike left arrow - left strike up arrow - right heel down arrow - left heel s - right toes a - left toes
This project was made for HGSE T550: Designing for Learning by Creating. A special shout-out to my first dance teacher, Mrs. Ashoka Rao, who brought my culture to life for me .
