WARNING, CONTAINS MILD PAIN I come to with a groan. Every inch of my being hurts. Black spots swarm over my eyes, but they fade after a second. I touch my head, and try to set up. Once I am in an upward position, (or at least as close to one as I can get,) I look around. I am in a small room with a dirt floor. The walls are made of a cream colored brick. There are no windows, and only one door, which appears to lead to the rest of the building. There are some furs hanging over all the walls, possibly for warmth. I am sitting on a simple cot on the floor, which is made of several stacked blankets. There is a single blanket laid over me. The lighting seems to come from an orb floating near the roof. I am mildly offended by the state of the room they chose to leave a prince in, but I suppose it could be worse. I examine the bandaging on my wounds. So, they decided to tend to me. Wise of them really. If they had simply ignored an esteemed being such as myself, I would have had no choice, but to bring vengeance. A note, written on what looks similar to a corn husk, catches my eye. It is sitting beside my cot, with a glass of water and a muffin directly to its right. I ignore the water and muffin, (probably poisoned,) and pick up the note. “Hello sir. If you are reading this, then you woke up while we were out. Please sit tight. We should be back shortly. In the meantime, enjoy the water and muffin.” I scoff. As if I would just sit around and wait. I’m leaving before they can return. I throw the blanket off myself, and get up with a painful wince. I walk towards the doorway… right into a person.
