These are some Breyer model horse customization projects that I have the models for, and that I plan to do soon! The first one is a traditional-scale palomino Buckshot, who I found in the sandbox at the horse camp I was CIT-ing at. The children had a bunch of old Breyers that they were using to play with IN THE SANDBOX! The poor horses were all scratched up, and some were missing limbs. This palomino grabbed my attention, and I rescued it (I put one of my old sparkly plastic horses in the sandbox in return. I had to give it a bath to get the sand off! My plan is to repaint it as a palomino pintaloosa. When I was young enough to be at this horse camp, my favorite horse color was palomino pintaloosa, so I think it'll be a fun full-circle moment to paint this horse in that color. I did some drawings where I traced a picture of the mold and colored it in to see what I want to make. I'm debating whether to give the horse dapples or not. Dapples take a long time, so I'm trying to decide if they really add to the effect. Thoughts? I also have this classics Running Thoroughbred that I want to repaint to a black leopard appaloosa sporthorse. I want to do a custom braided mane (and maybe tail), which will be my first attempt at model resculpting! Finally, I have this traditional Harley that I'm going to paint as my grandma's Morgan X Clydesdale mare named Dottie! She's got a lot of dapples and should be so pretty to paint!
Stay tuned for when I get around to painting these guys! It may take a while lol but I'll be sure to post a project when they're done
