Beach memories 2 years ago, everything was fine. Me and Iris would play at the beach and roast marshmallows as the sun set. But then everything went wrong. My sister, Carissa got pneumonia, Iris moved, and my family couldn't afford to pay my college fees anymore. The day after Iris moved, my mother came up to my rooms and said: "Cari, why don't we go take a walk on the docks? I'll even buy you some cotton candy!" I'd been moping in my room listening to depressing songs and staring down at the beach. The beach where my sister got pneumonia. "No mom. Not today..." "Well... ok Cari. Some other time." I had hated the beach because my sister had gotten pneumonia. That and because it was the beach where me and Iris had, had the best times of our life. and now... now that could never happen ever again. My phone dinged and I saw it was a picture of some of my buddies from college having a party. "UGH!" I yelled. I hurled my phone at the wall, and it shattered. "No no no no noo. I moaned." My phone was broken.I sighed and threw off my Pjs and put on a t-shirt, hoodie, and cargo pants. Then I flew down the stairs and ran onto the white sand of the beach. I curled up on a rock and thought of the last time she had talked to her sister. It had been at the Blue Bay hospital. The doctor told us that Carissa would never get better. She was going to die. I went to Carissa's bedside table and tried to talk to her, but she had been too weak. That night, she passed away. She was only 12. I got up and walked along the waves. The ripples of foam washed along my toes. I smelled the salty air and thought of the things I had lost. The sea churned and rippled. ran to my house and grabbed my surfboard. once I got onto the waves it felt as if Iris was with me. And it reminded me of the time I fell off my surfboard, and my sister had laughed so hard. The memories were all I had left. "Hey little sis! See me now?" I yelled to the sky. and even though I had lost some things, I think I can finally be happy again.
