This is my own design! It is somewhat inspired by the Japanese kimono. I named the design "Yubina" as a tribute to this. When I first set out to design my own dress this had not been my intention, but after making the asymmetrical element in the bodice I drew the rest of the design with the gracefulness of a Japanese kimono in mind. Yubina is the Japanese word for 'graceful' as it is spelled using the English alphabet. Please correct me if I am wrong, as I do not know Japanese :) I want to emphasize that this is not a kimono, it was inspired by the kimono. I also know that the Japanese culture is often obsessed over and I was not attempting to do that. While I admire the culture I don't want to misuse it. Just as I drew a Norwegian-inspired dress for my DTA that was by no means a traditional Norwegian dress, so I drew this with inspiration from the kimono. Anyway. Enough babbling! Feel free to use this or any part of this piece and/or the background(s) in your own projects with credit. :) Time taken: 4+ hours I hope you like it! Also check out my Victorian dress! https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/121630687/ It would be interesting to see someone else make a Yubina design ;) The criteria is that it is asymmetrical, has long, flowing sleeves, and a thick ribbon sash. Flowers are frequent design elements as well.
