Rose I added the 2 songs she was inspired by. (How It’s Done from K-pop Demon Hunters and Congratulations, a cut song from Hamilton.) Hahahah i wrote a whole thing READ IT OR ELSE BG info: Shapeshifters are shapeshifters, and they can take any existing animate form, plus they are usually very strong and are the only creatures capable of being dragons. If a Shapeshifter has a child with a human (or any other creature, for that matter,) they will come out gLiTcHy and not actually exist, hahahah, on top of only being able to shapeshift to a mostly dragon human or to a mostly human dragon, but if they break this amulet that their physical forms are stored in, they go glitch-glitch-boom! The main character of this story is named Rose. Her mother was a human and had Rose with a shapeshifter. The shapeshifter never told Rose’s mother about his true self, even after he left them or when Rose was born. Rose likes roses. That’s where she got her name, actually, but once she fell in a /very/ thorny rose bush while playing and her left eye went oof and started being glitchy. When a half-shifter gets a boo-boo, it never heals. It just… sits there. Even “ketchup” never dries (NOW do you see what I mean by “glitchy”?), so every time you see Rose’s left eye, it will be either a glitchy area or a glitchy patch of ketchup, so yeah there ya go. -In this universe, school rules may not be changer by new principals, only by the first principal of the school, so often principals read the school rules before applying to the job in case they do not agree with the rules, but that did not happen with the principle in this story. *** Rose was once a good kid. A smart kid. A cool kid. A combatant kid. Dag, even a /pretty/ kid. She doesn’t have friends. She used to, when she was younger. Everyone loved her, wanted to be her friend. Until she uncovered her horns and broke her school’s biggest rule: No cross-dressing. The horns were an accident. All she was /trying/ to do was wear a hoodie, a fashionable worn-down moto jacket, and a jumpsuit, the former two of which was considered masculine in her school, which she was unaware of. Like, who ever said that girls can only wear /coats/ as jackets? But, uh, she was sent to the principle, Doctor Prince’s, office the moment she stepped onto the campus. She had to keep her horns covered at all times (literally the exact same situation as Rumi, except with dragon shapeshifters instead of humans). The principle had held xis hand out, demanding the outerwear. But because Rose’s hood was the only head cover she had, and it was the coldest day ever, she refused. The principle took a deep breath, and made an offer. The moto jacket was reasonable on a cold day like that day, so Rose was allowed to keep it. But the hoodie would be confiscated. - (Switching writing styles BTW) - “…What?” Doctor Prince cautioned when xe saw Rose’s expression, “Is something wrong?” Rose was crestfallen. Then she got a dumb, illogical idea. What would happen if Prince found out about a half-shifter in xis human-only school? Detention? Rumor-spreading? It would be devastating for her family. /Anything/ would be better… Rose looked directly at Dr. Prince. “Start an assembly or I will not take this hood off,” she challenged. The principle did as she pleased and called an assembly in the auditorium. When rose went on stage, she deliberately took off her hoodie and held her arms up. Then, once everyone had realized she had horns, someone decided she should not exist and pounced on her, pinning her down. It was Rose’s best friend, Bud. Her other friend, Thorn, was right behind him with some weapons. (Now, dragons ((all Shapeshifters’ only /unique/ form, and therefore Rose’s only form)) are naturally violent, but Rose had never turned into one. As far as she was concerned, she couldn’t shapeshift. So when she accidentally shapeshifted, let’s just say she was overwhelmed.) The rest of the lore is pretty easy to guess from now.
