Stridehook! Random adventurer’s takes on the Stridehook: “It's so cute! Almost enough to make me not want to eat it! Almost.” -The greatest swordfighter EVER! “You see, the laws of evolution always prefers the fittest. fittest could mean many things. strongest, fastest, stealthiest, or even just the best at making babies. this abhorrent and hideous creature is neither of these. this….thing is extremely dependent on a species that does nothing for it. there is no feasible way to explain this thing’s appearance other than pure coincidence. it is too adept to fit into the laws of nature, and it is slow, grotesque, and unintelligent.” - THE TALKING BIRD DID NOT JUST SAY THAT ABOUT MY LITTLE FELLA. AWH. WHO'S A GOOD BOY. "Is that a knockoff ceratopsian?"- Boy what in the world are any of those words ————————————————————————— Moulded from a hookjaw, these creatures are hookjaws captured and transformed into a land-dwelling beast. Their intelligence is much more robust: They understand a mediocre deal of human signals, vocal and visual. Their sight and social skills have been upgraded too, being able to interact better with their own species. They breathe through what were previously gills and their front legs were previously fins. They produce asexually after transformation. Their jaws are rough and can close quite hard. They have lost their keratin-tipped tounge, eating more tranditionally with their mouths. Stridehooks feel deep affection with humans, understanding their language to small extents, feeling joyful when fed, and simply enjoying being around and playing with humans, adults and children alike. Stridehooks are rather un-agressive to all unless their human companion says so. The stridehooks are human companions as well as workers, doing things like defending, hunting and any manual labor they can do with their mouths. Stridehooks started as lackeys, being created to attack on command from humans. However, their lack of aggression towards humans made them unideal for war, and they became closer to companionship and workforce instead.
