Chapter 5 - Questions, Answers, and a Revelation. (Previous chapter: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1213714993/ ) Callie had finally gotten sleep, even though it had been slightly sprinkled with nightmares. She awoke, sitting up, and cautiously using her Solver on a nearby notebook just to test. The notebook came to her, but not without her Solver flickering yellow for a moment. It scared Callie, and she accidentally dropped her notebook, which opened to a page with a handwritten note that read: “Cabin Fever Labs. Find them. Find…it. Stop it before it finishes the job. Find what you need.” Surprisingly, to Callie, she didn’t recognize the handwriting. Cabin Fever Labs…? Were all her answers there? Surely not, right…? Callie grabbed the notebook from the floor and clutched it tightly, walking out of her room and heading to Uzi’s room, not even able to knock before Uzi opened the door. “There you are, come in.” Uzi ushered Callie inside, Nori was also in the room. “Oh, Nori, I wanted to talk to you.” “Alone?” “No, we can talk here. Anyway, I was grabbing my notebook, and saw a page with a note. It wasn’t my handwriting.” “…A notebook? Let me see.” Callie opened up to the page with the note and showed Nori, who looked slightly surprised. “…She knew…” Both Callie and Uzi looked confused at this. “Mom, what do you mean…?” Uzi asked. “I was friends with Callie’s parents.” “WHAT?!?” “Yes. This is Rose’s handwriting. And by the way she worded it, she wanted you to stop Cyn.” “I’m trying. I don’t know if I can stop her.” Callie said quietly. “You can’t stop me, Callie. I’ll live on. After all, I am a program.” Cyn said, having come back yet again. Her voice startled Callie, who accidentally tried to use her Solver. It didn’t work. “CYN!! What did I say?!?” Uzi yelled angrily. “Not to interfere this time. Just one question though, Uzi. Why would I listen to you? Callback Ping.” Cyn said, attempting a Callback Ping. Both Uzi and Callie were affected, their eyes flickering yellow. Uzi fought it off immediately, replying angrily, “Bite me.” Callie, however, struggled to fight it off, it taking a bit longer. Once she fought it off, she glared hatefully at Cyn, her Solver in her hand. “You won’t do it again. Not anymore.” Both Uzi and Nori looked concerned at this, Nori using her Solver. “Callie, she’s not worth it. Can you come with me? I need to tell you something. Uzi, stay here. I don’t want Cyn overhearing.” She said. Uzi nodded, and looked over at her tail, which was lifeless, signaling Cyn had left. Callie got rid of her Solver, sighing as Nori left the room. Callie followed behind her. Nori went into a room that Callie hadn’t seen before, motioning for Callie to come inside. Callie complied and headed inside the room. Nori closed and locked the door. “So, you deserve to know the truth of your past. You know that I knew your parents. Yes, they were killed by Murder Drones. Only because of Cyn. Cyn created the Murder Drones to wipe out every Worker with the Solver, to prevent them from using its own power against it. Yes, your parents were both from Cabin Fever Labs. Unfortunately, they both had the Solver. Neither managed to be patched. Rose…tried to stop the Solver from possessing me and injured herself in the process. She didn’t recover, and that lead to both your parents demise.” Nori sighed. “Callie, I don’t want to hide these things from you. Especially since me and Uzi are all you have. But…” “But what..?” “But…I think Cyn is attempting to make you her next host. However she can. But, I’ve managed to create a makeshift patch ever since the last was destroyed.” Nori used her Solver and something in the room flew to her. It looked like the Crucifix Patch, with some differences. She held it out to Callie. Callie looked down, nervous. After a moment, Callie took the Patch from Nori. However, she didn’t use it. “Take your time. I’d like for the three of us to go to Cabin Fever Labs, find what you need to find.” Nori said. Callie nodded, she was thinking that was the case, but to hear it confirmed, was her worst nightmare right now. She started to walk out of the room, still holding the Patch, Nori didn’t stop her. Callie walked back to her room, sighing. She turned the patch over and over in her hand, contemplating. Yes, if she used it, nothing bad could happen. But…on the other hand, it felt like she might lose a part of her, however bad it may be. Cabin Fever Labs would be her answer, she was sure of it. Instead, it would soon cause the biggest problem. “…Soon. Just a little longer…” (You’ll never know what that said before :3) End of chapter 5! Same problem here guys, but it’s because I simply write this out as I go. Glad to get this out. Might edit it a bit though. Cut off was sloppy…
