The song, a musical "love letter" to their Latin heritage, also functions as a playful jab at the "solo stan" culture within the K-pop fandom, with the members asserting that they are all stars and best friends, not rivals. Connection to Latin Culture The song is a celebration of Latin culture, featuring Spanish guitar and a Spanish verse sung by Daniela. It allows the members, especially Daniela, to connect with their Latin community and showcase their heritage. Response to Fan Culture "Gabriela" is a "play on our solo stands" and people who try to create conflict between the members. The members are poking fun at the narrative that they are constantly fighting, emphasizing their true friendship instead. Artistic Statement The song serves as an artistic statement from the group, showing off their vocal abilities and creating a modern interpretation of classic songs about rivalry, similar to Dolly Parton's "Jolene". It is described as a Latin-inspired R&B pop song that allows them to show off their skills while reinforcing their message of unity and shared success.
