tw death , homophobia , my thoughts on the queer representation of robin from stranger things. - 2 robin is known to be the lesbian of the group, she was originally supposed to be steve's love interest before they decided to make her queer , adding more diversity and a super cool supportive steve, i'll be showing you how she might not be the best way to represent the lgbtq+ community , and how she might also be good representation. 1 - her original character " i'm not like your other friends , and i'm not like nancy wheeler " robin buckley , season 3 robin. she's usually known the token lesbian , but what if i told you that originally , before they wrote the show , she was supposed to be a straight girl who falls in love with steve. she would have acted the same just being straight , as they planned season 3 more , the duffers planned to make her gay , with the help of my wife , maya hawke. 2 - why she is a bad representation " maybe i'm rotten " - robin buckley , rebel robin podcast she seems like a great way of showing people the queer community , but she might actually not be the best way to represent lesbians. she always is found to usually be talking about girls, which is baddie slay , but also , that's not supposed to be what defines you, we all know she has a personality , though , she just always has to mention a girl in her conversations with steve in season 4. i do get that she only has one person to talk to about it , i just want to see more about just robin , not how she's gay. she also has a big chance of getting killed off , and if she does , or if her love interest , me - i mean , vickie , gets killed off , that is a very bad and kinda homophobic cliche ending for lgbtq+ characters. it would also be extremely normal which is not very good. i also notice how people hate her a lot. some people call her annoying , weird , and others might say homophobic things. i hate those kinds of people because why would you even watch a show about being different when you hate different people ?? i also think the duffers are going to make her be a traitor or evil , but we'll get to that in theories and predictions later. 3 - why she is a good representation " she's just uhh , nevermind " - steve harrington , season 4 she might be a good way to represent the queer community as well , maya hawke seems to try her hardest to act her , and the duffers seem to try their hardest to write her well. the majority of people seem to like her character , and i think all these things are great. she's very well written and the duffer brothers seem to have done their research (they have before for most things though) well , those were my thoughts , it's a bit short and not that well written , but here you go if you want to hear my thoughts ig
