Use the black / white parts of the button on the bottom left of your screen to change the background color (light or dark). Trail length is self-explanatory. Click the "true" or "false" part of the text at the bottom of the screen to toggle the rainbow trail on / off.
The ball points in a random direction from 5 to 85, so if you want it to point a different direction just press green flag again.
