As I exit the train, the first thing I saw was a big sign. "Welcome to New York, its been waiting for you!" The people around it were saying the exact same thing "Welcome to New York, its been waiting for you!" I already love it here. My jaw was permanently dropped as I walked through The City That Never Sleeps. The sounds of the hustle and bustle, the winding streets, and the bright lights were so different than the calm way of life in Nashville. I met so many people with the same ambition as me, searching for something more, to fulfill our dreams. I walked past another billboard saying, "Welcome to New York, its been waiting for you!" while walking to the Gershwin Theater. I watched Wicked on Broadway, and oh my me, I could dance to that soundtrack forevermore. The stage lights in the theater were so bright, but they would never blind me. We dropped our bags on our apartment floor with a loud thud. You looked at me and picked me up and kissed me like all our struggles disappeared. Today, we agreed to put our broken hearts and put them in a drawer. We were different people before, but now, we can want who we want. Our love is like New York, it keeps us guessing; like any real love, its ever-changing. Like any true love, it drives us crazy, but we would never change a thing. One day, there was a knock on our door. I opened it and I saw a man in a trench coat pointing a gun at the love of my life. "Welcome to New York, it's been waiting for you." He smirks and with that he pulls the trigger and the maroon liquid spreads through my lover's white shirt. I scream and he points the gun at me. "Say it" He urges. "W-welcome to New York, i-its been waiting for you." *Bang*
