“Could it be a dream?” ❀ || Just_Jinx ❀ || Hi, I’m Jinx! I’m a weird girl who loves reading, writing, and anything creative! I have an obsession with cat genetics and dislike brainrot. I’ve read all the Jane Austen books, and I love Pride and Prejudice. I’m an active scratcher, and I’ve participated in many roleplays- mostly small ones but more notably Generations (I have a cat by the name of Morningpaw) and TSS (I have a cat called Truthpaw.) I’m an artist. I love digital art, but I struggle with drawing people. I own four cats, and a hamster named Penelope (it’s a reference lol). My favorite flower is a Morning Glory, because once I took to gardening and it was the only plant that survived.. :/. For the most part. I’m a terrible gardener. :,) “Surely it must seem” ❀ || Rosekit! :D ❀ || I would really like her because.. well, for one, she’s gorgeous. I’ve always wanted to roleplay a chimera cat but I’ve never had the chance, because most roleplays I’ve participated in have you start with a kit from a litter, and I’ve never been able to find a litter with one. I’m fascinated with Chimeraism because I harbor an obsession with cat genes, as I’ve previously mentioned. I also think her name is beautiful. Rose has always been my favorite name for characters in my stories— I have an old story draft, from age 10, about a character named Rose finding and taming a dragon. Looking back, the story’s not very well written, but I love it all the same and she reminds me of it. Nostalgia is a funny thing. “Like a frightful dream…” ❀ || I’ve never been good at thinking I’m better than anyone. I think everyone who fell in love with this kit deserves a chance. I really don’t think I’m more deserving. But I will try my best with her, and make her be beautifully flawed, imperfect but still an excellent character. She’ll be a to fascinating, spicy, character, who will live a long life, and interesting one, with many details and highs and lows. I want her to feel /real/. I can relate with her situation. I can portray it well, and give many details, being an experienced writer and roleplayer, which will merely add to her story. She’ll leave a legacy behind when she dies. “How can this be true?” ❀ || For all her life, Rose will be straight and use she/her pronouns. “Won’t her mother come,” ❀ || Rose often feel jealous that her mother shows favoritism toward her elder brother because he will become Keeper when Wildflower dies. However, she often feels nervous that if her brother passes before her mother does, the Keeper role will fall to her. She’s worried about it, and hopes that if it ever does happen, she’ll be able to manage being Keeper. Until then, she will be overprotective of her older brother, because she doesn’t want him to fall into any accidents. She doesn’t want to become leader because of his death, but if she has to, she will, if only to preserve the dynasty she will grow up in. Because of this, she will often try to practice leadership throughout her life when the role falls to her. She will do her best to be fair and just, and be a good leader, even with her many faults. “Come wake her up to play,” ❀ || Wildflowercrown: Rose loves her mother dearly, and looks up to her. Wildflower is her mother, after all. But.. as time goes on, she finds herself feeling a resentment towards Wildflower, for showing favoritism. What is Rose supposed to do to earn her mother’s love, when no matter what she does Oleander will always be the better one, the perfect one? As she grows older, she will start to detach. She’ll realize her mother will never value her as much as her brother (apart from being a spare) so she’ll grow apart from Wildflower. Oleander: Rose tries to love her brother. But she can’t help but resenting how infuriatingly perfect he is— how no matter how nice, kind, and empathic she is, he’ll always be better, in her mother’s eyes. Her mother never notes his mistakes and flaws, whereas Rose tries her best to be perfect until she breaks, and still isn’t good enough. She doesn’t wish him dead, but she hates how cruel he is (that is, if haroldharpy or princessp get him.) Wilted: Rose harbors no ill feelings to her little sister. She loves her, and is very protective of her, with her being the youngest, and also never being loved as much as their brother. They understand each other- both are disvalued and picked on, although Rose gets the brunt of it. She would protect her little sister to the ends of the earth. “Won’t her father say,”
“Here’s a rose for you,” ❀ || Rose has respect for the Dynasty. She believes that it brings order that a group of cats needs, but hates how it leads to her often being less cared for by mother, because she values Oleander more. She believes that having a system is good, but the Dynasties are severely flawed. When she is Keeper, she may try to fix it. “There’s a girl who no one sees,” ❀ || Simplified: Rose is independent, loyal, resilient, ethical, resourceful and very sensitive. She's logical and creative. She is, however, temperamental, closed-off, cynical, and distant. Detailed: Rose is a very complex cat, with many faults and good points. She's a whirlwind- intelligent but sensitive, and very independent, making her unpredictable. She’s a quiet rebel, resilient but not accepting wrongs, and although she has a cold exterior, she has a tender heart and a strong sense of right and wrong. Unfortunately, she’s far too sensitive and turns to bottling up her emotions until they explode in a sudden burst of her hot-temper. She’s resourceful, with a streak of creativity- but also logical, so she won’t let her ideas fly away with her. Rose is also closed off and distant.. if only because it hurts far too much to be fully immersed in reality. Even so, Rose is cynical- she struggles to trust anyone- but once you earn it, you’ll find a loyal and fiery friend with a tender heart ready to go for the throat if someone dares to hurt you. “There’s a girl who’s left alone,” ❀ || I’m a very active scratcher. I check my messages many times a day and respond to every one. I may be a small scratcher, but I can often can be found on scratch. I’d say I’m 8/10 active- a healthy amount of activity, without being constantly on 24/7. ❀ || Chimerism is a condition where two embryos merge into one in early stages, creating a cat with the classic split face, and two separate genomes in one individual. It often leads to a split face and odd eyes, but other than that, it does not often affect cats any more than their appearance. It usually does not affect a cat’s health, and chimera cats can often live long and healthy lives. The only health problem it can cause is if one embryo was XY and the other XX, making the cat both intersex and infertile. She will not, however, have this problem because she is a XX and XX chimera. This condition is rare in cats and does not usually affect their health. However, Rose will often feel worried about her condition, and check with the Sage every once in a while to make sure she is okay. “There’s a heart that beats in silence,” ❀ || Fears: Of being abandoned, of not being good enough, being forgotten.. Favorite things: The color teal, and green. Nature. The night sky. Birds. She envies how they can fly- because she’s always wanted to be free, weightless. Her favorite time of day is dusk. She enjoys watching the sunset. “For the life she’s never known,” Dislikes: Rude cats. Dragonflies. Being picked on/insulted. Making mistakes. Being abandoned Insects ❀ || This is one with Morningkit, from Generations. https://scratch.mit.edu/studios/32606436/comments/#comments-304085404 Even more or Morningkit :) https://scratch.mit.edu/studios/32606436/comments/#comments-303872481 “For the life she’s never.. known..” Now, for an example as I would use for Rose: Rose stepped out of the Leaf’s tunnel. It was early morning, and the sun would soon rise, its summery colors blending with the colors of the night. It was cold out- the dark of the night made sure of it. She took a deep breath of the chill autumn air that she loved. When she exhaled, she imagined all her problems flying away with the freed breath. Her mother’s favoritism. Her brother. Her regrets. And her mistakes. //If only it were that easy// she thought, with wistfulness. One paw step after another, she climbed the hill in camp, her paws sliding on the grass- wet from the morning dew. It wasn’t long before she was at the crest of the hill, and then she looked at the sky. She gasped. Every time it looked more beautiful than the last. It was gorgeous, and it gave her hope. //If this sky can be so perfect, so worthy of every cat’s love,// she thought. //So can I.// The breathtaking dawn colors felt like a promise. Even with her solemn mood, she let herself smile, and wish upon a star. Like she had when she was a bud. Tonight, at least, she felt hope. Codeword: I would like for Rose’s flower to be a Marigold- as it is one of my favorite flowers and I love the mixed meanings. It can symbolize regret/spite, but also means new bridges, and purity. I’ve always thought Victorian flower symbolism was fascinating, and now I have a chance to use it! The Marigold would fit her because it symbolizes grief (the pain of her mother never caring, her brother’s cruelty) spite (her hatred of her brother and mother) and also new bridges, if she every forgives them. There’s so much potential! The song quotes are from “There’s a girl,” from the Secret Garden.
