Full title: Compliments So Darcy gets complimented by a stranger and she gets flustered and just ignores her. That’s pretty much it as far as the comic itself goes. As for other stuff related to it, there’s a bit more… So this one has kind of a funny inspiration. I was trying to think of a comic idea since it had been a while since the last one, and then some random kid from my school who I didn’t know complimented me randomly, and I was pretty embarrassed… so I thought to make a comic about that situation. I chose Darcy to be complimented since she’s very shy and gets flustered easily. As for the other character, I kinda messed up while drawing her but her name is Mitzy and she’s a drain fly (not a moth, though she may look like one, she’s a fly!). Idk much what to do with her yet, since I made her pretty recently, so I figured she’d be random enough to suit the situation lol (although it is slightly annoying to me that she showed up in a colored comic before a certain character who was supposed to appear (and did appear in sketched comics) OVER A YEAR AGO! But she will probably show up in the next one, considering 3/4 of the sketched comics I didn’t scrap include her. Although I may not actually finish them all…) And now for the art style… -you might notice I didn’t shade it. I will only shade comics sometimes, but probably not most of the time, because it’s kind of tedious… -Darcy has her old eye style back… kinda? I tried combining the old and new style, because I’m not sure which is better. The old one is cuter but the new one is better for comics, so I am trying to figure out how to get the best of both worlds. I have so far not been quite satisfied, so I might just keep switching art styles for a while, maybe forever even… -I finally remembered I could use the circle tool instead of drawing the speech bubble myself lol -this is the first comic with a night sky background! -Mitzy’s antennae aren’t supposed to look like that, idk why I drew them like that ._. -I forgot to add stuff to the cover of the book Darcy is reading, but I’m tired so I don’t feel like going back to fix it ;-; -you might notice in some drawings I give the insect characters one pair of arms, they actually have two pairs of arms, but I’m just too lazy to draw them most of the time
Only 11.5 because it’s very short and lazy Also, I missed the 1 year anniversary of me posting the colored comics in this series online (September 1st, which is also Darcy’s birthday, since the first comic I finished was Darcy’s birthday special. For a bit more trivia, that wasn’t actually the first comic, just the first I finished, because I realized the actual first one that was only a sketch could be misunderstood to be something inappropriate, which it wasn’t supposed to be… I still have it somewhere, but I probably won’t post it or any other unfinished comics I did… though it probably made Dr. Centipede’s debut comic more confusing considering he was supposed to show up and be introduced in a comic I scrapped, but it’s not like there’s much of an actual plot to these (…yet? Who knows, maybe one day I might make a little plot for it, but it’ll stay silly and not too serious.))
