Welcome to Super Mario Galaxy Bros! My latest Scratch project is a crossover between the Super Mario Galaxy series and the original Super Mario Bros. game. It also contains a touch of New Super Mario Bros, complete with simultaneous multiplayer! Control schemes: This game has two control schemes (four, in multiplayer,) to choose from. You will be required to choose when before selecting your character. When playing multiplayer, each player will use a separate one. WASD (W is up, A is left, D is right, and S is down. L is the fire button.) arrow keys (Each arrow corresponds to its own direction. Z is the fire button.) The following control schemes are only available in multiplayer: TFGH (T is up, F is left, H right, and G is down.) IJKL (I is up, J is left, L is right, and K is down.) (When playing in multiplayer, control schemes have no specific "fire" button. It is substituted by quickly tapping the "down" key.) Menu Controls: Use the mouse to navigate menus and the level select screen. Press "P" to pause the game, and "V" to change the music's volume. Press your left and right keys on the character select screen to choose a character. Press space to skip the opening cutscene. Gameplay Controls: Use the left and right keys to move. (While on a planetoid, right is clockwise and left is counter clockwise.) Press the up key to jump, and hold the down key to crouch. Some pipes can lead you to new areas. Crouch while standing on top of one of them to enter it. Tap the fire key to shoot fireballs (as Fire Mario,) drill through the ground (as Drill Mario,) and use Launch Stars. Editor controls: Use the arrow keys to move the camera. Hold A to rotate the camera clockwise. Hold D to rotate the camera counter clockwise. Press "E" to switch between playing and editing mode. (Hold "S" as well to start from the beginning of the current area.) Press space to zoom in/out. Gameplay: Your goal in each level is to reach the Goal Pole. Overcome various obstacles and make use of power-ups to get there! Sometimes you need to use Launch Stars or enter pipes to progress through the level. Enemies will hurt you if you run into them, but some can be defeated if you stomp on them. Each level has a time limit. If you don't reach the goal before time runs out, you'll lose a life. If you lose a life, you'll restart at the beginning of the level. If you're playing in multiplayer, defeated players will enter a bubble, and can be revived by their teammates. If all players are defeated, (or bubbled,) you will start over at the beginning of the level. Power-ups: You can find several types of power-ups hidden in ? Blocks. All the power-ups currently featured in the game are listed here: Super Mushroom This power-up makes you taller. While in this form, you can break brick blocks by hitting them from underneath. Getting attacked by an enemy will make you shrink again, rather than immediately losing a life. While under the effects of a Super Mushroom, you will be more likely to find even rarer power-ups. Fire Flower: This form allows you to shoot fireballs. Tap the "fire" button to throw them. Throw them at enemies to defeat them! Drill Mushroom: This power-up allows you to drill through the ground! When standing on a planetoid, tap the fire button to drill to the other side. You might be able to reach certain areas that you couldn't reach otherwise! The sharp drill on your head makes it possible to defeat enemies from underneath. The Level Editor: Selecting "Maker Mode" on the title screen allows you to try out designing your very own levels! Drag and drop objects into the level and create your very own galaxies! Use the toolbar to switch between editing gravity and editing blocks. You can create three different kinds of gravity: Circular Gravity pulls things towards its centre. Use this one to create planetoids. Line Gravity allows you to place things horizontally or vertically. Absolute Gravity pulls things in a single direction. If you fall too far below it, you'll lose a life. To create a planetoid, create a circular centre of gravity and draw a ring of ground tiles around it. They will automatically turn into a planetoid. Use the buttons on the right to change the music, background, or name of your level. You can also save and load your level, or even create new areas! Use the "Load Game" button on the title screen to play custom levels. You can share your creations and find others here:
