Hai! So for this one, it isn't quite a lore, but it's what I can assume Cottla is based on the time I spent talking to her. I tried to make it sound poetic, here it goes! Cottla's Secret - A Whisper of the Past Cottla, the energetic and ever-present child of Kakariko Village, is known for her endless rounds of tag and her innocent inquiries to travelers. But beneath her youthful exuberance lies a peculiar connection to the past, a subtle echo of a forgotten era. Born to a family of humble farmers, Cottla's early life was unremarkable until a strange incident at the age of five. During a particularly strong gust of wind, a small, intricate wooden bird, intricately carved with ancient Sheikah patterns, fell from the rafters of her family's home. It was old, almost brittle, and nestled within its hollow body was a single, smooth blue stone that pulsed with a faint, almost imperceptible warmth. This killed Cottla's mother, the key element to why she is so strange. From that day on, Cottla began to exhibit unusual traits. She would often hum melodies that no one in the village recognized, tunes that sounded ancient and melancholic. Sometimes, when playing near the ruins on the outskirts of Kakariko, she would speak phrases in a language that no one understood, words that seemed to flow naturally from her lips, yet held no meaning to her conscious mind. In addition, Cottla will also tell you she is playing hide and seek with her mother, if go talk to her on certain times on certain games... Her father also tells you at night (on breath of the wild) that he hides the fact of her mother's death to Cottla, but he told Kokko (I think that's her sister's name). The elders of the village, particularly Impa, noticed these oddities. While Impa never outwardly acknowledged them, she would often observe Cottla with a knowing, almost wistful expression. It was whispered among a few trusted members of the Sheikah that the blue stone Cottla carried was a fragment of a forgotten relic, a minor conduit to the memories held within the very land of Hyrule itself. This theory suggests that Cottla, through her accidental connection with the relic, unconsciously channels echoes of a past Sheikah child – perhaps one who lived during the age of the Calamity, or even further back, a child who played in the very spots where Cottla now chases butterflies. These aren't full memories, but rather faint impressions, feelings, and fragmented whispers that manifest as her humming, her strange words, and her inexplicable pull towards ancient sites. The wooden bird and the blue stone remain her most cherished possessions, though she doesn't understand their true significance. To her, they are simply her "lucky birdy" and her "pretty blue pebble." Yet, in the quiet moments, when the sun sets over the peaks of Kakariko and the fireflies begin their dance, one might catch Cottla gazing at the distance with an expression far older than her years, as if listening to a story only she can hear. Her boundless energy and cheerfulness are her way of grappling with these unconscious echoes, a youthful defense mechanism against the weight of a past she doesn't comprehend. And so, Cottla continues to play, a living, breathing whisper of Hyrule's long and storied history, unknowingly carrying a piece of its ancient soul within her bright, curious spirit.
