This is a fun little activity for musicians to practice their chord spelling abilities! You will be given a single note placed in the first, third, fifth, and seventh position of a chord. Your goal is to fill out the rest of the chord with this set note and a specific quality in mind.
- Known issues with enharmonics, it will not recognize ones that overlap with a natural note (Cb, B#, Fb, E#). Overall it could also be more proactive in using the correct enharmonic but that would incorporate much more logic. - I'd like to add 9th chords and onwards, although that will require a much more complicated handling of the interface to expand the grid. This is a pretty barebones mockup! - Thanks to my professor for showing me this exercise on pen and paper.
