~About Onna!< Meet Onna! This quiet, vain girl was traumatized early in life and was left with scars inside and out. She sometimes wears a shroud over her mouth to hide her scar, likes to ask “Am I beautiful?” Then takes off her shroud “How about now?” Based off of Kuchisake-Onna from Japanese mythology. She is a loner who resides under a weathered and twisted olive tree, within a rabbit tunnel system. ~Parenting Style!~ Onna is a relatively strict parent. She will not allow her kits to leave the burrow until about apprentice age. And when they are allowed to leave it will be supervised by herself or Vigil(Explained later). Onna had a fifth kit, a son who was stillborn. His name is Grim, named and based off the grim reaper. He had all black fur with dark eyes. Because of his passing she is very protective. She’ll teach the kits medicine, battling, strategy, hunting, and stealth. She is very protective. ~Where they live!~ The group lives in a burrow created by rabbits long ago that has been dug out by other creatures throughout the years. Their home is referred to as The Burrow. The woods have lots of fireflies which Onna rumors will lead her family to the burrow if they need to find her. The burrow is a long and winding tunnel system with open burrows to nest in. The burrow is underneath an old and weathered olive tree, with tall reaching branches that provide a dappled shade around the clearing that surrounds it. Surrounding this clearing are thistles and thorn bushes making it very difficult to get to the tree, the only way in is through a tunnel that onna dug out. Up in the shade of the tree branches is where vigil roosts during the day. At night and when danger is near vigil hides away in a hidden hollow in one of the thick branches. Upon a large root that curves out of the ground acts as a spot for Onna to sit. Underneath this root is the entrance to the tunnel system. A second entrance is near the back to allow for an easy escape. Fallen olives decorate the clearing allowing for the occasional treat and hunting practice. Olives are considered a treat considering they have a similar compound to catmint. Due to lack of catmint in the area surrounding her home, olives will be used as a substitute. ~About the Group~ Court of Thorns is a rouge group that consists of Onna and her Bloodline. It is a similar to a monarchy, the leader is Onna and her chosen heir will inherit her rule. The chosen kit will be raised to take over after she is gone. I plan on onna having multiple litters. She will choose one kit from each litter to be raised like this. This will become a rank. In the order of Leader than below her is the Heir then the Chosen then the rest of her family. The Chosen are the one kit from each litter she plans on raising to take over but ended up not becoming heir. This may seem confusing so please let me know ~Relationships to the kits!~ Banshee- The oldest, most likely to be raised as heir (not definitive, depends on applications) Whistle- The protector Wendi- She doesn’t mind Wendi having a little more freedom considering she’s not training him for anything and isn’t as needed to be protected. Clover- The youngest and smallest Onna is protective of her. Mostly depends on the winning application but this is kinda the baseline. ~Gifts!~ Each of the kits will be given a gift when they learn to talk! Some gifts will be promised but not given till later due to size. Banshee~ Will be given three of Virgil’s feathers to have or wear however she wishes. Whistle~ Will be given a small pouch with a leather strap that contains mouse bones that he can wear around his neck. Wendi~ Will be given small antlers he can wear when he is older. Clover~ Will be given a white ribbon with a green clover embroidered on each end. Guys thank her for the gifts, it took her forever to find them :’) ~About Vigil!~ I want to make this very, very clear. Vigil is not a pet! He is a crow who lives in the branches of their olive tree. Onna feels a loyalty toward him because she feels he saved her life (explained below) She will teach the kits very early on that he is to be respected and never disturbed. The only cat allowed in the branches near him is Onna. And remember he flies away when anyone comes near. It’s not like their friends. Honestly, Vigil probably doesn’t like them. They basically invaded his home. He does keep an eye on the kiddos and onna when they go out, but that’s only because Onna leaves him fresh-kill to eat when she goes out. When Vigil roosts in the branches, if danger or a stranger arrive he flies into the hollow in the tree. Onna has spent enough time around him to understand this. They have a symbiotic relationship. She leaves him food, and he sticks around to warn of danger. The kits will not be permitted to go outside The Burrow without supervision until after 6 moons due to Vigil possibly trying to eat them. Onna named him after his constant sitting in the tree like holding a vigil.
~Onna’s Backstory~ When Onna was young she grew up in a very large family. When she grew older she longed to leave and explore the world. Her family lived in a network of burrows under a large dead oak. The dead oak was the home to a murder of crows and the roots below the home to a clowder of cats. On the very same day that Onna was born, a strange life was also born above. An albino crow. Onna decided to leave that same day the crow was driven away from his murder. His flapping away set something off in her and so… she decided it was time to go. She explores and meets new cats and even came across clans. During her expedition tragedy struck, she was attacked for accidentally intruding on a rouges territory and was left with a scar from the corners of her mouth back toward her ears. Tired, lost, in pain, and alone Onna grew frightened. During a large windstorm she struggled to find shelter. Until, she heard a caw. Looking up, it was the albino crow, surely a good sign. It clung to the branches of an olive tree. It cawed again and flew into a hollow in the tree. She pushed on, fighting through the boughs of thorns. Collapsing in a burrow, she slept. When the morning came she realized she had discovered her sanctuary. A lot of life surrounding Onna seems to be magic, in fact I have her believing in magic because of this. Certain things that are a complete coincidence or just a strange occurrence are magical in her mind. She believes that her ghost son haunts the woods, that she’s soul-bound to a crow, and that fireflies lead family home. She thinks the world is a terrible place and magic is her coping mechanism that helps her feel better about it. If you are worried that some of the things that are listed are magic and shouldn’t be allowed. Just remember, they’re magic, but only to Onna.
