This is a fictional role play in a world full of possibilities. Your goal is to create the most successful empire. You must fill out the sign up sheet attached in order to join the role play. (Remix) Read everything below. === Geography === There are five main regions in this world: - In the northwest, you can find a frozen tundra. - In the southwest, there is a large desert with a single oasis. - In the northeast, there is a vast mountain range, with one valley, and only one path on land through the mountains. - In the southeast, there are two flat islands with no apparent physical features. - In the very center there is an island with a volcano. === Location Based Advantages/Disadvantages === You can only start on green land. Oasis: Just barely enough resources to survive. It will be difficult to expand through the desert. However, you are very safe from invaders. Desert: Full of oil and other fossil fuels. Very useful once you figure out how to use the resources and survive there. There is little food here. Tundra: Full of ore such as iron. There is little food here. Mountains: Impossible to traverse. You must sail around them or go through the only passage. Valley: About the same size as the oasis, but nearly impossible to invade and expand out of. Good resources. Volcano Island: Extremely fertile land. Perfect for civilizations to thrive. However, the volcano could erupt and destroy your civilization anytime. Every day there is a 10% chance of it erupting. Other Islands: Safe and a well balanced starting point. Portion of land only accessible through land passage: Good place to start. Control over the passage through the mountains may affect you though. Pretty much every green spot is balanced apart from the volcano island, the oasis, and the valley. === Color Meaning === Brown/Red: Volcano Brown: Mountains Blue: Water features Yellow: Desert White: Frozen Tundra === Technology === This role play starts with bronze age technology. Every region has access to it, but some may eventually discover and be able to invent more technologies. Technology will advance at a fast rate from the bronze age, but will then slow down. You will have to describe the inventions first and demonstrate an understanding of the concept in order to put them to use. The currents are extremely strong in this world and the success of seafaring is not guaranteed. (Until your ships become extremely good.) === Point System === - Every day you have a set amount of five points. - You can use points to invade other empires, discover new land, form alliances, and advance your technology (my discretion.) - Whenever you attack another player, it costs two points per wave of attack. - In order to attack a player, you must be bordering them, or able to access them by water. - Two points to create an alliance, one point to join one. - Point cost may change depending how advanced your new technology is. I will keep it fair and balanced. - It is okay to allocate multiple points to one area. - Points reset every day. === Trade === - Civilizations closer to the tundra have access to ores. - Civilizations closer to the desert have access to oil and luxury crops - Civilizations near mountains have access to precious gems and coal. - Civilizations near the volcano have access to staple crops. - Civilizations on the other islands have access to lots of wood and animals. === Strategy === - Try to start near water features. - Control strategic locations. === Extra === - Your empire will start extremely small, but it will grow over time. - Natural disasters may affect your civilizations. - Man made disasters will also affect your civilizations. - I may not be active everyday; keep role playing until I come back. - There may be rebellions if you expand too fast. - You may encounter hostile or friendly tribes while expanding. - There will be a empire ranking based on your progress. - Let me know if you have any questions.
