My original research for nearsightedness: Nearsightedness is a condition where the light reflected off objects appears in front of the retina instead of directly on it, causing distant objects from the eye to appear blurry or with little detail. In people, it is usually corrected using eyeglasses or contacts, which compensate for the eyes, but you can also have eye surgery done to fix it. In cats, however, this is not an option, so Truthkit would have to learn to rely more on her sense of smell and hearing for pinpointing objects.
