so this is different than what i normally post but yeah please read through this description (there's no tldr sry) scratch literally mutes me from saying this but it’s oct. 1st when i’m releasing this and october is bre&st cancer (bc) awareness month i wanted to make a project to hopefully make some people aware about what bc is and what it can do the cause of bc is unknown, though there are some known factors that can influence its presence bc largely affects women but can also affect men; one in eight women will be diagnosed with bc in their lifetime it is the most common cancer (aside from skin cancer) in the world, and it will appear without warning this is what happened to one my close family members about a year ago (i don't want to share exactly who for privacy reasons) this person was a perfectly healthy individual with no indications of any health problems similar to bc prior to the diagnosis thankfully it was caught in a reasonable time frame, before the cancer had the chance to metastasize (spread and invade the rest of the body) this person went through four rounds of chemotherapy and it shook my family to the core. we were forced to adapt to a situation that came without any warning and it sucked our main priorities as a family shifted to taking care of this person, and suddenly there were new considerations that we had to take into account that we would have never even considered prior for example we had to mitigate exposure to sickness because if someone gets a fever on chemo then they have to stay overnight in the hospital to make sure they are okay. this meant the only place i was recommended to go was school and areas where sickness won't spread as easily, like an outside event, as to not infect my family member chemo made this family member a shell of their former self, along with other symptoms like hair loss that damaged their mental health it was a tough few months but we got through it and now you wouldn't even know that this person went through what they went through just a few months ago and i could not be more proud of them they are now cancer free btw :D moral of the story, bre&st cancer is not something to joke about, and as much as i'm thankful that my family member is okay, it was still a horrible experience that being said, take the necessary precautions. skipping a mammogram is NOT worth the sacrifices required by a cancer diagnosis. (mammogram = test for bc in women, recommended at a certain age) i think a few people here know bits and pieces of this story already but i thought i would share it fully if you want to help research surrounding bc, you can donate at organizations such as bcrf.org. my family has donated to a few and they are great causes that save lives additionally, you can find your nearest bc foundation online. near where i live we have a ywca and my family and i volunteer there every once in a while to give back to a community that helped us in our time of need alright that's all for my little monologue thanks for reading it all if you're down here <3 ♫ beautiful lounge - sergey gulevich made in fig, thanks to the "glow" plugin for the effect kaw for my branding ~ -ats__ 2025
