・・・・・・ [species log 002] the SENTRIES (scientifically recognized as "Immobilibusimbres mutatus") - are a taxon of IONIZED that are incapable of moving. like the more common IONIZED, SENTRIES are derived from the infection that collapse humanity within the city, but due to either something going haywire within the infection state, or an injury that left the human unable to walk when they were infected, these IONIZED have been classified as SENTRIES, which eventually became their own taxon. all SENTRIES have a vague, humanoid appearance, albeit without actual hands to grab things. what should be their legs appear to be a stump-like formation that fuses them to the ground. despite their inability to move around VARIMAL CITY, they have formed a hunting method - these IONIZED can shoot a type of acid up to 100 feet (though this is a guess, as we have only observed juveniles that can shoot up to 10-20 feet) around them. this acid catches and dissolves prey. a long nozzle will emerge from an orifice on the SENTRY, slithering out and slurping up the slurry, akin to a cone snail. an obvious downside because they dont have the ability to move, is that IONIZED can easily prey on them, which is why we dont know too much about them. most specimens observed from our research team are usually dead and mutilated, with the rare few that survive being juveniles. what useless creatures.
