────── .⋅ ★ ⋅. ────── dear to no one - a tfcrp self rp ───────────── Dear/whisper/. A whisper is a sound that is intentionally too quiet to hear. Was his leader mocking him when he gave Dear that suffix? He couldn't tell. A whisper in dark, a shadow among streams of light wafting through a clearing. Had he always been like this? He could hear the sound of a crow flying overhead. He only counted one. All alone, like he was. Dearwhisper had heard a poem about what each number of crows at a time symbolized, but he had forgotten it by now. Why had he only been able to remember that part? Why would he even remember a stupid poem anyways? He kicked a paw into the dirt, he had gotten pretty far away from camp on this walk. Even now, Dear was isolating himself. And he knew it. He was all alone. Like how his father was probably alone right now, and scared, in his old age. He had gone out several times looking for Father. He would come back, it wasn't like him to leave without telling his children goodbye. It wouldn't be like him to /leave/. It wasn't like him to leave. What if Laurelventure was gone forever? What if... his Father was gone? Truly gone. Not just, missing. Father was old, and it wasn't as if he was spry anymore. Why had Dear been lying to himself for so long? Of course, at twenty-five moons old, he would loose his father. It just had to be him. The cat with the worst luck in all of the five Clans. His name, his own name, was the first and last thing his father had ever given him. The last thing. And yet, he was "dear" to no one now. "Dear" was a name. That was it. Dear/whisper/. He thrust his claws into the grass, feeling the cool dirt beneath his paws. Now, "Dear" was actually dear to no one. Now, of course, since he lost the only cat that he was ever dear to. ───────────── afterword - Wow !! Was that really sad or was it just me? Yeah okay I had to have Dearwhisper address the fact that his father had dissappeared (oorp got deleted). And there needed to be a reason to explain how he got ten times more angsty even though he had been getting better. I know what it looks like, but he isn't changing his name.
