✰ Update 2 … Groundwork w/ Pyrite✰ … 10/5/25 … Today I took Pyrite out for a quick schooling round, just trying to break in his new tack. When I walked into the barn, he was a bit wary of me, shying away from the gate of the stall and being restless. I guessed this had something to do with his new next door neighbor ( ;D get it? ) and that he was still settling in. I gave him a couple pats and brought out his new tack. He did well, and didn’t try to throw it off. I led him to the arena cautiously, and gave him lots of love when I got on. Once he had a job to do, he went down to business! He was splendid under saddle, carving his corners carefully and being attentive. After a while of walking and trotting, I gently asked him to canter, and he did beautifully. And on top of all of this, it was a lovely day outside! I honestly had quite a rough start with Pyrite, but it turned out for the better. I’ll be schooling him some more soon, so stay posted on Pyrite’s journey!
