So. In many communities and roleplays [inside and outside of Scratch] I keep. Seeing. Personality-related disorders get misinterpreted. Such as giving DID/OSDD to a character. A premade character. And yes endos I love you, but, /most/ of the time those /specifically/ originate from! Very traumatic events. It is NOT something you are born with. Plurality is /also/ something that will. FORM. LATER IN LIFE. It can be as young as you want, but. They will NOT be BORN WITH IT. And those are all! Heavily! Misinterpreted! Due to there being so many different 'views' on it! [which also pisses me off. Because. How can you have 'views' on how a CONDITION is shown by those WHO HAVE IT.] From people who! Don't have it! Yeah! Gens in very good with this, due to having to have someone who! HAS THE DISORDER help you with research. Another commonly misinterpreted one [of which I will! Not go into as hefty detail as I myself do not experience this] I see is Bipolar and Borderline. They can! Be mixed up! Easily! Yet they are NOT. the same. We knew someone and they! Had /one/ of them but! They couldn't tell. And it is NOT. A fun thing. Being blind or mute does NOT. Make a character 'cute' or 'shy' or 'attractive' in ANY way. Yes, a blind/mute character CAN be those things, but NOT FROM BEING BLIND OR MUTE. Depression is SERIOUS, and does NOT. Make a character 'edgy' or 'cool'. Anxiety, Autism and ADHD are NOT quirky additions to your character. NO disorder is. NO disability is. Keep that with PERSONALITY TRAITS. Not CONDITIONS. You do NOT. Need to put it in your starter as if that is the only thing about your character that will make someone wish to interact with them. There are! Exceptions! Of course! Yet overall it just. Disgusts me. I do understand that it is mainly children! But! Young children do not need to have a character with a mental disorder or physical disability that they do not fully understand! AT ALL! Research CANNOT be cut short into 'i know someone who has ___' or 'I have ___'. Because then is it. Really that hard to just! Type how it affects you or them? That should make it easier! No? Research should be FULLY DONE to the point that you AND whoever you are submitting the research to are CONFIDENT that you can PROPERLY portray whatever it is. And can we! Please refrain from acting like we know about something WHILE making people feel invalid/saying that they don't when you! Really don't know anything of it? Thanks anyways gbye and thanks for reading my rant ig, this is not targeted to anyone whatsoever
