TW!! I do talk a little bit about my ear piercing experience at the end so please just stop reading after I mention that my scara costume will not be accurate because I got my ears pierced if that bothers you :)) HOLY DOOKIE- I'm finally free!!! I just finished my driver's education course (the online portion, 10 hours with the instructor, and the physical test, not my 70 hours) on october 2nd (sorry for the wait, I've had a busy weeK otherwise I would've shared this immediately) so grab your wife and hide your kids because I'm now on the roads!! (with a permit, not a license) AND- school has been horrendous. I've officially hit the sophomore slump I said would never happen because my functionality is at an all time low and it is so hard for me to coax myself into getting any homework done (I'm avoiding a packet right now about the the Philadelphia Convention of 1787 that I have only written my name on and drew a founding father [John Blair Jr.] as an anime girl.) and really I've just been putting so little work into anything and because it's taking me so long to get on task, I've had no time to do anything else that I actually want to do, so recently my life has consisted of trying to finish drivers ed (I did, yay me) doing homework, finishing my screen time on every app that has a limit (It's become obsessive ever since I got a limit on apps last year. I used to be really good at limiting my screen time with only 1-2 hours daily, sometimes forgetting to pick it up during the day at all but since I got the limit, it feels like a daily obligation and I don't enjoy it at all because feel like I have to get it done or something bad will happen so I sneak it and put off work to finish it :( ), sleeping/lying awake in my bed because my parents have fairly strict bedtimes for me even though I've had sleeping problems since I was a little kid and could be doing something productive, taking excessively long showers/bathroom breaks to get some time to myself because I can't go into my room without being accused of doing something sketchy and have to stay in communal spaces with my family the whole day and it gets overwhelming, and going places with my family and missing work to do so because it takes me so long to get started. Sorry that kind of turned into a vent, I've just been so stressed lately :(( Anyways, back to the topic of the costume, the shoes did arrive!! They're pretty poor quality for what I paid having straps made of scratchy fabric with a weird stain on it and essentially a block of wood with foam poorly cut and glued to the bottom so I really wouldn't recommend them! They also barely fit me, my feet being darn near the exact same size as the base of the sandal, maybe a bit bigger because they look ridiculous. I also got the size 9s (my feet are 8.5 in women's) and they were the biggest size they had. I couldn't find anything better so I will just have to deal with them but please do your own research and try to find something more worth your money but mine are still up as a last resort. I def won't put a picture because the world is full of freaks but I may put a pic of them not on me in the next one just so you can see how they look (I just don't have the energy in me rn and my Chromebook camera is complete dookie and I don't feel like getting my phone tbh). Also, I did get my ears pierced so unfortunately, this scara will not be biblically accurate because scara doesn't have pierced ears. tragically for scara, I don't care about what he has, I wanted mine done again because I got done filthy the first time I got them done 5 years ago. I got mine done at claire's (I know, trust me, I know) the first time and they claimed I only had to wait 2 weeks to change my earrings because their magic witches' brew of little girls' dreams and consumerism would make my ears heal super fast and GUESS WHAT- THEY DIDN'T!!! They were probably infected because they REFUSED to heal and it hurt so bad to change my earrings that I would get super nauseous and lightheaded about to pass out from the pain. I couldn't have had them in for more than a year because it REALLY didn't help that I got them done right around the pandemic (what was I supposed to do? predict it?) and when we started wearing masks, the mask loops that went around my ears pulled my earrings down to almost down to the bottom of my earlobes by the end of the year that I'd had them in (this was over the course of many months of wearing masks) that I'd decided to just take them out and let them grow together. It really wasn't worth it to keep them anymore because when I tried to change them, they wouldn't heal enough for both ends of the hole to be a solid tube so when I went to change them I could get them in the front but not out the back and that was really irritating to my ears, but also I couldn't change them without darn near passing out. Anyways, this year I finally got my mom to actually set a date for me to get them done as a late birthday -
(cont.) - gift because I'd been mentioning it since probably 2-3 years ago and she took me to see this lovely lady named Randi at her shop (I would love to recommend her so bad but she works wayy too close to the town I live in :( ) and she was so sweet and explained everything in great detail and the process of taking care of them, even offering follow up appointments. She used sterile equipment and a hollow needle instead of a piercing gvn which makes a much cleaner hole and let me just say, the piercing hurt a little more because it was done manually instead of a quick click, but they did not ache, they were incredibly clean for the 6 weeks I've had them now, and they didn't hurt at all when I changed them for the first time today. She really did an incredible job and I'm so happy with them!! Thank you Randi, and I'm hyped to finish this costume whenever I get time.
