Uhm- so! If you have 8 minutes, I really (HEAVILY) suggest you watch this video by one of my favorite apologists, Wesley Huff. He will explain the gospel to a non-believer in better language and detail than I can lol https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zVeEBLrb8bM However, I will still try to! :D
SUMMARY: So, it all started in the Garden of Eden, with the first humans. Adam and Eve were both created by God. They were created perfect- they didn't experience pain, suffering, loss- none of that. There was no death, no pain, no sorrow, no sadness. They were even in an open relationship with their Creator, talking with Him daily. God had created this world perfectly. Question: Who is God? God is Omnipotent, Omniscient, and Omnipresent. He knows all, is everywhere, and is all-powerful. He is the Creator of all things However, God had put a tree in the midst of the garden; the Tree Of Knowledge of Good and Evil. God told Adam and Eve to never eat of the fruit of this tree, or they would d!e. The sad thing is, we're human. We mess up. Adam and Eve were given free will, so it was their choice whether to obey God or not. A fallen angel named Satan tempted Eve into eating the fruit, and Adam partook of it. This was the first sin. This broke Adam and Eve's fellowship with God. Why? Because God cannot be in the presence of sin. He is far too Holy, far too Just, and far too Good. This sin is what brought pain, sorrow, and suffering into the world. This sin is what made us as humans bound to the will of it. Have you ever lied? Have you ever stolen? Have you ever gotten angry? I sure have. Countless times. That's what's beautiful about our Creator! God loved Adam and Eve so much, he refused to be separated from them forever. He loves you and I just the same! So, John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" So, God sent His Son down to Earth, live a life without sinning a SINGLE TIME, (Otherwise He wouldn't have been fit to be our sacrifice.) And d!e a h0rrible death. Okay, but what is God saving me from? God is saving us from eternal separation from Him in Hell. Romans Road: Romans 3:23 “…For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God…” There is not a single righteous person on the planet. Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Even though we sinned against Him, He still saved us! Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the gracious gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Our 'payment' of s!n is eternal separation from Him. Salvation is a GIFT. It cannot be earned. No matter what we do, we will always fall short of His glory! Romans 8:1 “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ…” Those who have trusted in Christ to be their savior have no condemnation. They will not be separated. Romans 10:9 “…that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved…” I think this verse speaks for itself! The question is often asked, "How do I know I'm saved?" The simple answer is that if you have truly believed in Jesus Christ and put your faith in Him, God will transform you. The old ways of sin that you used to relish are going to fade, and the new life you live in Christ will dominate your passions 2 Corinthians 5:17 says "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" Important things to understand: 1. Salvation costs you nothing. It cost GOD. Works will not save you! Galatians 5:3-4 says "For I testify again to every man that is Circumsiced, that he is a debtor to do the whole law. Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace." Those who try to add to God's grace... Christ is NO EFFECT TO THEM. Ephesians 2: 8-9 also says " For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast." 2. God can save anyone! No matter what they've done. Romans 5:20 says "Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more." Ummm any other questions? :D
