Day 6: Fatal Flaw ‘I could have saved him.’ ‘Oh, really?! How?!’ ‘... I don't know. I just… I should have tried to. Right?’ ‘Since when has he deserved your forgiveness?’ Owen stared back into the maze as the thoughts and voices inside his head waged a war. The insanity of it all exhausted him, and in an instant he was on the ground. He couldn't register the cold feeling of the cobblestone under his hands, not even when he hit the ground. He *hated* feeling like this. Like he was powerless to save anyone. First it was Mohwee. Then it was Squidney. Then Oeca, then Mohwee again… the list went on. “I'm supposed to be better.” He choked out, his dusty brown hair falling over his face. “I'm supposed to *stop them* from sticking their hands in the electrical socket, not help them jam their fingers in! I'm supposed to be the strongest, the one who isn't phased by his best friend *beating him down, lying to him, and running away*. Not this weak, pathetic excuse of a soldier.” His voice echoed in Owen's head. He despised the way the sound scratched against his ears. He didn't *deserve* a *moments* thought. And yet there, by the large, soundless doors, lay a soldier, grieving a traitor’s death.
