PROLOUGUE: Keeping up at Deninis Secondary School is hard. Imagine having to be on top of all the trends, having a bestie who gets bullied, staying on the same level as the popular people and having a massive crush on a popular guy called Amir Jackson who you’ll never be able to be with. Well, I just described Hannah Cole. Chapter one: Hannah’s POV First day of year ten. Number of times I embarrassed myself: approximately 106 Number of times Trixie was bullied: Also approximately 106 (If you times that by ten, add another two hundred, times that by five then double it. So 12,600) Trixie gets bullied because she’s bisexual. I’m surprised I don't get bullied because I'm about ten times more awkward than her and I'm asexual. Maybe it’s because Trixie is always being loud and obnoxious, so people know she’s awkward. Anyway, at the beginning of the school year, there’s always a school disco to welcome the new students and to celebrate a new beginning. I’m still not sure what to wear. I hope Amir’s there. I’ve had a massive crush on him since year 6. He’s really popular in school because his family inherited loads of money from his great, great Auntie when she died. She had loads of money because she was a banker. Anyway, I really hope I see him at the disco. I’ve never had the guts to talk to him before, but I hope in year ten at some point I will. Maybe he’ll talk to me? I hope he does anyway. He’s cute. Most people like him because he’s rich and his family owns half the town, but I just like him for who he is. He gave a speech at end of year assembly last year. He seems nice but you can’t know for sure...
