✪ Update 3 … In-hand with Scorpio ✪ … 10/9/25 … Hello foxtrotters! Thanks for checking out my latest update <33 Let’s get right to it! Today I was assessing my gorgeous new thoroughbred, Scorpio! I’ve linked his story down in the comments - go check it out :D Overall, I was prepared for a middle-class jumpy thoroughbred who barely made the cut of dressage when I took him in, but I was blown away! He is an angel - and excellent at what he does. Of course, he’s not perfect, but he is a charming boy. We started off on a high note, with him greeting me as I came to get him at his stall and staying attentive and docile as I slipped his halter on. It wasn’t much, but he was doing great! I led him into the arena (with some treats, of course!) and he made little fuss - obviously handled like this before. After some coaxing he settled in and was hanging on my every move, watching me intently. He picked up on my cues as I circled him in laps around the arena at walk, and then I decided we were ready for a challenge. I clipped on his lunge line and started him at a soft trot, his movements ambling slowly and steadily. His movements were calm and collected, so I decided to turn it up a notch at the canter. I clucked softly to do the trick, and he was off! This boy definitely still has some spunk in his old age - he was at a careful but still fast pace. After a minute or so I started to cool him off and gave him a couple treats for his good work. I then let him out in the paddock (sadly by himself… he’s still in quarantine) making sure to give him some love before I let him roam. Overall, Scorpio did amazing! Definitely spicy, but a sweet and gentle boy nonetheless. He will make a very good confirmation and in-hand showing prospect in his future - another discipline to add to his resume! Thanks for reading, have a great day/night!
