The 2025 Gaehive Gift Swap is open!!! Sign-ups are open until October 31st (Halloween...)! Assignments will be sent out over the following weekend. Please read through ALL of the rules! I've done a lot of revamping from the previous years! ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Requirements for Signing Up: - MUST be following or curating the gaehive for at least a week. If you are closeted and do not want to be outed, follow the QOTS suggestions studio (https://scratch.mit.edu/studios/37081952/comments). I may ask for your follow date if I cannot discern if it has been a week since you followed the studio. - Account MUST be at least 2 weeks old. This is to prevent trolls and ban speedrunners from joining. + This applies to alts as well! While I would prefer if main accounts were used, if you have a new kin account that you will be using often, I may make an exception. - If you are under a troll status at any point after October 24th, you will be removed from the gift swap. - If you lied about making a gift last year (yes, I had a few people do this), you will not be allowed to participate this year. I have receipts. - I will not be replying to people this year just to save time! That doesn't mean you are not participating, it just means I'm really busy (which is all the time with work anymore LOL) and/or have a drained social battery. - I would prefer for sign-ups to be formatted as "@[username] | Preferred name/pronouns | interests (full titles please, no acronyms!)". This lets me just copy and paste the entire comment into a Google Doc. - Preferred gift types will not influence the assignments this year! I had people last year that didn't sign up because they couldn't draw, and that is not an environment I want to foster. - The only gift backups I'm allowing this year are from friends. I'm bad about asking for help, and I would prefer to have some personal relationship with the people making gift replacements so I can be as annoying as I want. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Requirements for Gifting: - ALL gifts are allowed this year!!! As long as it is accessible, it's allowed. + The only playlist links allowed this year are YouTube, just to make sure no one doesn't have access to their gift. If you don't have a YouTube account, just make a free Google email and log in. + If a link has to be censored to be said on Scratch, that is not an accessible link! + The only exception to this rule is sharing large or Scratch-unfriendly gifts through Tumblr. As long as your recipient has an account, this is an okay method! Though I will ask for a screenshot of the gift post (which must include a ping to their Tumblr account) before marking your gift as complete. - You will be given weekly reminders for the entire duration of the event. If profile comments are closed, this reminder will be sent on a project or chat studio. + Depending on my work schedule, some reminders may be rolling, and will not consistently be on the same day every week. + If you are given a reminder after you have finished your gift, just reply to the comment with the link to it! I can't catch every gift shared, and am guaranteed to miss a few. - If you receive a gift, then drop out, this will be noted and may affect your ability to participate in future gift swaps. (There are, of course, exceptions! Life gets in the way, and I can understand that!) - There will be NO extensions this year!!!! It's very difficult to juggle with drop-out replacements. All gifts MUST be finished by January 10th, no exceptions! (This is not true for replacement gifts, which will be given until the last week of January (hopefully)) - The username you signed up with is the username you will get the gift on. This is why I would prefer alt accounts to not be used to sign up. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Extra stuffs: - There were 189 participants last year. Please read and/or save this project in it's entirety to keep this process as streamlined as possible! - Mean-spirited comments will not be tolerated. While I have not had this issue yet, I will continue to say that any rude comments I see about others' gifts or the gift you receive will get you banned from future gift swaps, and possibly removed from this year's. - Any clarifying questions can be asked below! I'll answer by when I got them, rather than what questions I deem "more important".
