Small scars mark his front paws, his paw pads are mottled with the faint remnant of burn scars, and a faded, healed cut runs parallel to the edge of his left eye. ────── .⋅ ☼ ⋅. ────── NINE . [ history and timeline ] > childhood / kithood - Radiance was brought up by Horizon's Wish, a young Python, after his mother died in childbirth. His father had died just a moon earlier, drowned during a storm. Horizon was an inexperienced and lenient mother, essentially letting him do whatever he wanted. His kithood nickname was Sunray, and that influenced his choice of his own name later on when he decided on Radiance. > adolescence / apprenticeship - As a snakelet, Radiance was quite popular among the other cats his age, having many friendly acquaintances but never any real friends. This changed when he met Daybreak, who was a moon younger, during training one day. He was impressed with her gentleness and genuine care for others, and the two of them quickly connected and became close friends. She was the only one Radiance felt liked him for who he was, instead of for what he could do. > adulthood / warriorhood - Radiance became a fang as soon as he turned 15 moons old, becoming a Viper and receiving the name Radiance's Charm for his charismatic personality. A few moons later, he and Daybreak, now Daybreak's Cry, became mates, making matching necklaces for each other as a promise of their love. However, two moons after the birth of their first kit the destruction of TSD came. Daybreak's Cry drowned after saving their son. Radiance, devastated, left with their kit, who he named Hemlock, to live as a loner. Although he promised Daybreak that he would take care of their kit, he blamed Hemlock for her death and acted distant towards his son. As soon as Hemlock was able to fend for himself, the two separated, and Radiance never saw his son again. During Hemlock's childhood Radiance met Wren. The two became close friends.
