ⓗⓔⓨ ⓣⓗⓔⓡⓔ ☆ ▷ today, i'll be giving a little tutorial on how i like to make banners, and also some general tips on how to stylize them in your own unique way! lil side note, this can also work for pfps or anything else you might use it for! ▷ first of all, you should decide if a banner is going to be very crowded or more simple. for this project, i'm going to be doing a crowded one! (they're just more fun guys). ▷ Slide 1. ༅☁️ next, get inspo! look at social media, mood boards, photos you like, etc! this will help you formulate a theme and color palette for your banner. i'll put my inspo images in the project! ▷ as you can see by the inspo, i'm in a sanrio phase right now. also, this banner will be mostly pastel pink with a few dark grey/black highlights, and maybe some purple too bc i love kuromi way too much. now, onto the next step! ▷ Slide 2. ༅☄ now that we have the inspo and basic idea of what we're making, let's start constructing the banner! the first step of any form of art, including making banners, is to establish a solid setting or background. don't make it too overwhelming, but not too boring either! flat colors are a bit too simple, but a very engaging background speaks for itself and it's hard to add to. ▷ here's my background! now, start layering your images. remember, the goal with a cluttered banner like this is to fill the space. start with large, simpler images and then work in smaller details. of course, i'm just gonna add a bunch of sanrio characters. lemme just take every character in the sanrio cast hostage real quick guys... ▷ Slide 3. ༅☁️ ok! now that i've committed fictional crimes, lets move on. as i said earlier, we shift to smaller images after we've filled the space. now that we have our larger pictures down, we can focus on small accents like stars, hearts, emojis, etc.! add whatever feels right to you, and don't forget, you still need to stick to the color palette! this is a great time for accent colors, though. ▷ Slide 4. ༅☄ 'tis done! now, if you're adding text to your banner, you can either do it now or you can do it like. the step before last step. remember, text needs it's own layering and depth! don't just type out words in any old font- pattern your letters, use fonts that fit your vibe, and layer/resize words to emphasize importance! if you aren't adding text, that's okay too! a banner can still be complete with an image-based centerpiece. ▷ Slide 5. ༅☁️ that being said- it's time for the finishing touches! now that we're basically done, give your banner a good look. if any space feels weirdly empty or overfilled, or you just don't like how an image blends with the rest of the banner, fix it!! use very basic, underwhelming images to fill any remaining blanks. this ensures your banner doesn't feel empty, but you don't overdo it with the decor. ▷ Slide 6. ༅☄ aaaand, you're done! i like to add a watermark to my more unique and complex banners, but you don't have to. i would recommend doing so if you put your own art into them, though! anyway, thank you so much for checking out my projects! ⊹ . ༅have an amazing day~ ☕
