"Without continual growth and progress, such words as improvement, achievement, and success have no meaning." -Benjamin Franklin It's time to take things to the next level. I've proven to myself and possibly dozens of other people that I have an incredibly creative mind. Why let it go to waste making the same kinds of recycled characters every day? Why not try and push the limits of what I can create even further? I know I can make something new. Something fresh. But I've just never let myself. That changes today. I want to experiment more. Diversify my characters more. Improve more. ---ABOUT THESE CHARACTERS--- I know these aren't the BEST first impressions of what the next wave of my characters will look like, there were definitely better examples from the batch of designs I made, I just wanted to draw these guys first. Their names are Eric and Jonathan respectfully, and they're for an animated series called ""Marchers"" (yes, the quotation marks are part of the name!). "Marchers" will be kind of be the "guinea pig" of all the shows I want to make in my career because it will be the least complex to create (2D animated with some 3D elements/backgrounds here and there). The show is a slice-of-life story set in the distant future. It's about a marching band in the year 2107 that has never been to a State contest before- usually placing low compared to other bands at Area. The main "protagonist" is Eric, a percussionist going into front ensemble (hence why "Marchers" is in air quotes- typically front does not march on the field). It's his freshman year and his first time performing in a marching band. However I intentionally wrote him to be generally unlikeable as a character, being lazy, annoying and selfish. The story is one of self-improvement and learning cooperation and teamwork, so Eric gradually improves as a character as the story progresses. This story is something I'm very passionate about, can't wait to eventually bring it to life and show it to you all :)
