Full Title - AYS: Inadequacy - Dave And Bambi Disheartening Betrayal #Note Im sure most of you are aware about the recent expose document on Adrio and Squidi, and i have issued a response on my YT video of this AYS, so please go read that if you care and question about what my thoughts are. Fun Update #1: Added the new Phase 1 & Phase 1.5 BGS as extras in their respective BG sprites that i was talking about. Looking through the archive server, these were the new said to be the new BGS made for Inadequacy. Ive left this in as an extra so you can have fun with this in your remixes or just for casual viewing, but my point will be made clear once you put these bgs together and see how they look with the sprites, they just dont fit. Regardless, have fun! ...Might touch up on some sprites whenever I feel like it, definitely talking about Marcello and Perditus Phase 2. QOL UPDATE #1: Cutscene toggle function [YOU MUST BE AWAREOF THIS FUNCTION BEFORE VIEWING THIS PROJECT] Due to Scratch limitations, if you attempt to watch this project in fullscreen mode all the way up until the cutscene, your entire website just crashes, regardless if youre on PC. I have attempted to combat this issue by making it so if you go inside the project and locate the Thumbnail sprite, there is a variable to toggle the cutscene on or off, with an explanation detailing what this does. The code is viewable in the PerditusCutsceneIntro sprite, its a really simple toggle but i believe this will optimise the project in a much needed way for people. This is enabled on by default, but if you wish to watch the entire thing without crashing if youre on a low end PC, toggle it off, or just for casual fullscreen viewing all the way. If you leave the cutscene variable enabled, then you MUST watch the project in minimised mode. Otherwise, watch it through my YT or view the cutscene project. Heres the link to the AYS i posted on YT! - https://youtu.be/9B4Y_VdWM8Q Watch the cutscene here - Highly recommended to watch on Turbowarp for a smooth watch. The descriptions are a bit outdated as i prewrote them all before actually finishing the project, so thats why i dont mention some things i normally wouldve (the cutscene), and also very minor bugs that involve mostly the camera and how it works. I wouldve wanted to write more in Notes and Credits, but the text limit hit me, so ill type more stuff here and give my explanation on some things, its recommended you read this before watching the project so you understand how everything works. For one, theres actually a bit of scrapped stuff that I wouldve wanted to include, such as the phase 1 and 1.5 bgs being replaced with the new ones posted in the archive server, but it didnt fit the vibe Inadequacy had for this project, and so I just settled on the current ones. I wouldve liked to use them, but they really clashed with the artstyle of the whole project and the sprites designs a lot. Few other things too, like reanimations for some parts in the cutscene. but ended up being more tedious than I thought, so I just focused on accuracy for the whole thing. For the cutscene, its fairly buggy, so to achieve the best experience from it, you need to watch the project the first time and get to the cutscene so that everything can load properly, then play the project the second time in order for it to run smoothly with no lag, IF youre watching through scratch, if youre watching through Turbowarp you can watch it once as it runs smoothly all the time, and so you can get the full experience of Inadequacy in Scratch. I dont know why Scratch doesnt have an option for preloading things, i even "tried" to "preload" some things by playing their animations at the moment you click the flag by playing all their costumes that appear in the mini/major cutscenes, so that when you see it in their respective sections it can run a bit better the first time you see it, then perfectly fine the second time. To an extent, it works, but the events lag it out extremely, so thats why youre basically forced to watch it in minimised mode so that your webpage doesnt crash and so it all works smoothly the second time. This website is genuinely garbage at its optimisation i hope the 4.0 overhaul fixes it all if thats still coming out Im really sorry if the cutscene is extremely unoptimised or just straight up crashes your browser EVEN IF YOURE ON PC, theres literally nothing i can do unless theres a way to optimise this project better than how ive done it. This is the best way i can make it, because before it used to be EVEN WORSE, the project has 8000+ blocks now, and previously with the old BG code and sprites i used, it used to be 10000+. Im really sorry, but theres some limitations i cannot control on this project, i really wish i could make it as bug free as possible, but you know how it is with me and scratch Thats all, enjoy! Dave And Bambi Inadequacy AYS Add yourself singing hope this works
Our final song, Dave. Oh boy, where do I even begin with this one? This has to be the most fun AYS project ive done throughout every one ive ever made, and also definitely my top 5 favourite AYS’ ive ever made. Production time was insanely quick and the final result turned out incredible, and im so happy to finally release this. Obviously there is a few bugs and inconsistencies but those are out of my skill league in coding knowledge. Aside from that, theres tons of other good aspects to focus on. I still feel like all they look great even if they are a bit inaccurate. I havent hyped up a major AYS project since Demise, and seeing the teasers project get 500 views alone is INSANE to me, this really motivated me to continue working hard and quickly but not overly rushing sprites that just make it seem weird, and so i really hope this project does well. I focus on quality and this project shows everything I have to offer with my talents in art and animation. And speaking of art, this was the first time ive attempted to do an AYS with every single sprite trace free. Obviously not COMPLETELY trace free, the animations and parts/faces are basically identical to the original sprites, however they are based on the outside and not the inside, if you know what i mean, and i think thats what makes this AYS more special. Even if I was tracing sprites as my main style in making AYS, as much as it felt like cheating to me, i also feel like it has made me improve in art and animation as opposed to maintaining only one way of making sprites in both scratch and outside, and because of this im able to make independent art and FNF animations thanks to my 4 years of being on here. If ive never been offered an ipad in my primary school all the way back in 2020, I would have not been able to get this far. Now fast forward 4 years later and look at me now, my life is much more comfortable as with the release and development of this AYS, i have finally acquired an EHCP and DLA (Educational Health Care Plan and Disability Living Allowance). I am confident to say this has to be one of my favourite AYS’ ive ever made and i cant wait to work on future projects, most notably my upcoming Strident Crisis Rebooted AYS’ and the DEMISE AYS rework. At the moment, my plan is to work on Thearchy so its safe to say this AYS has made me more motivated than ever, and thats all thanks to you guys. I have to especially give credit to my friends, as without them I wouldnt have gotten the result I wished of getting, i was constantly providing them images and screenshots of WIPS of my sprite making and early development of the AYS project itself and they provided me criticism and feedback on what i need to change, and i definitely give this thanks to MODEX the most (inksansprotect on scratch), as well as some other friends like CoderandAnimater, rasoficall, Criglee, Unbambi132, horribledeveloper11 and a few others. Back on topic to sprites, i feel like this is genuinely the first time ive been proud of them in a long while, ever since my Stagnant AYS i would argue. Being completely trace free (except for phase 1 perditus) has changed my art perspective in a way i never thought would have benefited me, and im eternally grateful that ive chosen this style since it shows i can do original stuff without having to feel like being forced to trace the sprites for maximum outcome. Also, DBDB devs, if you stumble onto this project, you now know why the user im exploitation/im evil cheating expunged (me) was constantly joining and leaving, i was gathering goodies from the inadequacy archives section for this project lol Anyways, thats all from me. Ive rambled on for a long while, theres just so much i had to talk about on this AYS and why i feel like this is definitely my most special project, and also my first major AYS to release this year! So that sets a good impression on me. Im now more motivated than ever for making AYS so expect Demise and my other future AYS' to be just as good. I am so happy with the result and im sure you guys are as well. And now, with that all out of the way, i can finally say, thank you, for sticking around and making this project come to life.
