the idea of this is if you want some "syllables" or "words" that sound similar enough that it's at least plausible that they have common origins. often times when making things it's hard to come up with fantasy names or words, so the thought is that this could at best give you something that is serviceable given some imagination and common sense. click on the dark yellow boxes to enable whatever's inside of it or click it again to disable it. you have to enable at least one each of consonants, vowels, and the structures before you can generate anything. i would recommend at least 6 consonants and 3 vowels. sibilants and liquids are just kinds of speech sounds and finals are just arbitrary sounds you might find at the ends of syllables, none of them are necessary but if you choose a syllable structure with them and don't have any selected nothing's gonna show up in that spot. orthography has to do with how certain sounds are written. the top characters in the pale boxes are translated to whatever is underneath it when the morphemes are generated. most of the other buttons are pretty self-evident after you push them but it's worth mentioning that the blue one above "words" lets you change the length of the words in syllables
concept more or less straight ripped from mewo2.com/notes/naming-language . if you read the page it's a better explanation of what is going on here than i can manage, but i felt it lacked a bit of clarity in terms of what consonants were being used or ability to mess around with the concept beyond the presets given. one of the concepts i liked reading about is giving specific morphemes a meaning and then attaching them to other "words" to compound their meaning. (ex: th' could be a prefix meaning negative, so applying th' to the beginning of words would make them mean the opposite.) it helps lighten the load in case you're trying to create enough words to actually write anything. by the way, i didn't do anything to prevent duplicates because it's gotten to be so late that it's morning again and also i don't care. this grew out of making a small script for only myself and then thinking "but what if i could make it work for other combinations" "what if i gave it an interface" "what if instead of ignoring that part i go and put it in anyway even though i'd have to reorganize and re-crop half of the buttons" and 10 full hours later here i am. so if you'll excuse me i'm going to lay down and stop writing this.
