All but one, acceptance. Ongi knew now. He knew she was gone. He knew his mother was killed. But oh, how much they wished they hadn't. They couldn't sleep without thinking of the fox. The blood on its mouth. Him being the tallest, he protected them, his siblings. But at what cost? They had to watch while the others cowered, they watched it all in horror. Sure, she could've closed her eyes, but her body wouldn't let her. She was frozen in place, like fate held her there. Song awoke in their bed, cold. Her eyes were full of tears, her heart raced. Even the thought of his mother made his breath catch in his throat and he choked just trying to breath. pan·ic /ˈpanik/ noun sudden uncontrollable fear or anxiety, often causing wildly unthinking behavior. Gia's vision was blurry with tears. Tears that poured down their face as they sobbed. She was really gone, now sun was in this oceanic clan, smelling of salt and fish and, strangely, blood.
