This is my entry for @Emeraldbutterfly26 's DMAC!!
Backstory: Long ago, in a quiet valley where the sky kissed the earth in a haze of soft light, there bloomed a single rose bush unlike any other. Its petals were the colour of the morning sun—hushed shades of pastel orange, glowing with warmth even under moonlight. Locals called it the Sunblossom Rose, said to bloom only when the world was in need of kindness. One year, the valley fell under a quiet sorrow. The birds stopped singing, and the wind no longer danced through the trees. The villagers, once joyful, became quiet and distant, as if the colours had drained from their lives. The Sunblossom, sensing the valley’s grief, did something no flower had ever done—it gave life. From the roots of the rose bush, a creature unfurled like a blooming petal. She was shaped like a small dog, but her fur shimmered in soft waves of pastel orange and coral, with the texture of velvet petals. They named her Rose, for she brought with her life and hope that bloomed like a rose. Rose had a gift. Wherever her paws touched, flowers bloomed. Her breath smelled faintly of citrus and tea roses, and her eyes—the colour of soft rose petals—held a gaze that made people feel understood, even in their silence. She never spoke, but she didn’t need to. Her presence alone was enough to mend heavy hearts. She would curl up beside the lonely, nuzzle the worried, and guide lost children home. The valley began to brighten again. Laughter returned like birds in spring, and petals of colour fluttered back into people’s lives. The Sunblossom rose bush bloomed more than ever, feeding off Rose’s light. Some say Rose still roams beyond the valley, appearing only where she’s most needed. You might spot her at dawn, walking across dew-kissed grass, her soft pastel coat catching the light like a second sunrise. She is a creature born of comfort, healing, and hope—a living bloom with a heart made of sunlight.
