Hello! My name is Brook. I am a therian and I awakened in June 2025. scroll down Suntherian/contherian who rarely shifts Theriotypes: Golden retriever, black cat. Psychological therian. Ever since I was little, I thought cats were cool. I would draw cats a lot, crawl on all fours, and wear anything that looked like a tail! I liked to do cat vocals too and made cat and dog sounds. As I grew, I didn't just want a cat, I realized. Whenever somebody asked me, "If you could be an animal, what would you be?" I would always say a cat. There are definitely many cooler animals or animals with more abilities, like birds and fish, but I really, REALLY wanted to be a cat. I eventually came across a term called furries. At first, I thought I was one. I searched up lots of questions, but then gave up and decided not to pay attention to that. On the flip side of feeling like a feline, I made unintentional dog sounds (like whining or wimpering, squeaks, and small barks). I would love to be patted on the belly or top of head (by close relatives only). I would get sudden urges to chew things. Another thing was that I would get this sudden glimpse every day that shows me running in the forest, I had black cat paws. I would get sad and have a sudden longing when seeing animals running around on grass. I would also feel a tail most of the time on my behind. I didn't like it because it was uncomfortable and annoying. I also thought humans were pathetic and cruel. I came across another term eventually., Therians. I searched it up, I thought it was another term for furry, and didn't pay much attention to it again. UNTIL.... One day, when I was in middle school, my friend made a mask. I thought it looked cool, so I kept it and searched up how to make a mask, which led me down the rabbit hole to therians (note: therianthropy does NOT equal gear!!). I looked at a bunch of videos. I wanted to make gear to express myself, so I did! I also did quadrobics, which made me connect more with my animal side. That's how I discovered I am a therian! I am proud to be part of this community. Feel free to ask any questions!
