Meanwhile in a small, old building made of wood Kai and Nya were working at their blacksmith shop, the inside was filled with armour and helmets, along with some shields and swords. Kai was forging a sword near the back of the room while Nya was watching the storefront. Kai finished making the sword, but after dunking it in water to cool it down it turned out wonky. "Aw man, not again!" He said in frustration, preparing to try again. Nya chuckled, "Kai, you need to be more careful, maybe don't rush it so much." She told him as Wu entered the shop and walked over to Nya. "well, perhaps you should give it a try. You both have different strengths, and together they could be something great." Nya and Kai looked confused, "what..do you mean? I highly doubt I'd be any good at being a blacksmith, I-" "all these tools for Samurai, yet you have nothing here for a ninja?" Wu interrupted, as he casually browsed the shop. "Yeah so? This shop is called 'four weapons' not 'for browsing', either buy something or beat it old man!" Kai snapped, Wu sighed as he turned to leave "I was hoping to find something special here, but perhaps I was mistaken..." He said as he exited, though he seemed hesitant to leave. Kai and Nya looked at each other, confused by this encounter, but ended up simply shrugging it off and going back to work. A short while after Wu had left, dark purple clouds rolled over the horizon, as a strange monster truck and motorbikes appeared, seeming to be made of bones with skeletons riding them. "ATTACK!!!" Yelled the leader, panic spread throughout the area, the vehiclese's engines revved as they headed straight towards the blacksmith shop. "Stay inside, I'll fend them off!" Kai instructed to Nya as he grabbed some nearby armour and a sword before rushing outside, where the vehicles came to a halt and a hoard of undead skeletons came out and began attacking, Kai was clearly outnumbered and outmatched, but he fought anyway. After a while of him struggling to hold them back, Nya came out to assist him, though she was unable to do much more than Kai. "Come on, do your worst!" Kai said provokingly to the skeleton in front of him, but he turned out to be the leader, and revealed his four arms. With a bone dagger in each hand, he began to approach Kai, and he was clearly far more powerful than him. "Uh, n-nevermind..." Kai said as he tried to back away, but was knocked over by the first attack from Samukai. "NINJAAAAA GOOO!!!" Wu yelled as he used Spinjitzu to attack Samukai, knocking him away from Kai at the last second, and making sure his attention was now on him instead of Kai. However, Nya was still struggling to fight off the rest of the skeletons, while Kai was trying to stand up, having been minorly injured. "Your Spinjitzu is looking a little rusty, old man." "Nothing like bone to sharpen it's edge, Samukai." Wu responded, ready to duel. Meanwhile, inside the shop two skeletons were squabbling with each other, they were meant to be finding a map for King Garmadon, but were doing nothing but arguing until they accidentally knocked the shop's sign down, and on the back of it was the map. Samukai threw his daggers at Wu, Wu managed to dodge, but the bamboo water tower behind him was hit and collapsed, Kai barely managed to avoid being hit, while Wu went to protect Nya from a group of the skeletons. "We have the map!" Yelled one of the skeletons as they headed back to the monster truck. Samukai lept back in, "KING GARMADON SAYS TAKE THE BOY!" He yelled, and a large skeleton hand claw-grabber was launched from the back of the truck, and easily caught the already weakened Kai. "King...Garmadon?" Wu whispered, surprised and worried to hear that name again. "Kai! No!" Nya yelled, trying to run after the skeletons, though their vehicles were far too fast, and she quickly lost sight of them. Wu put his hand on Nya's shoulder to comfort her. "We can save your brother, do not worry." "What do you mean 'we'? What am I supposed to do? You could save him maybe, sure, but I'm no 'ninjitsu' or whatever it was user, I'm not even a Samurai!" Wu sighed "SPINjitzu, and while you may not know it now, you have all the qualities needed to become a ninja." "Well, even if I could become a ninja how do we even know where they're taking him?" Nya questioned, still worried for her brother. "To the underworld...those skeletons are working for King Garmadon, and were likely sent here to get the map..." "King Garmadon? What map? Is that why you were here? To get the map before them?" Nya asks, still trying to grasp and make sense of the situation. (Rest in notes & credits!)
"No, I was here for you, but I will tell you the story of Garmadon, and the map. Long ago, the First Spinjitzu Master created Ninjago using the Four Elemental Weapons. The Scythe of Quakes, the Nunchucks of Lighting, the Shurikens of Ice, and the Sword of Fire. A long time passed and all was peaceful, the First Spinjitzu Master even found love and had two sons. Once he grew old, he intrusted the weapons of creation to the brothers, and told them never to use them, for their power was too great...however, time passed and the eldest was consumed by greed and a desire for power, and wished to take the weapons for himself and use them for his own gain. A fight broke out between the brothers, and after a long and tiresome battle the youngest managed to banish his brother to the underworld, and peace was restored. But, knowing that someday his brother would return, the younger brother hid the weapons in four different locations across Ninjago, and appointed a guardian for each, to keep them safe. In case he was no longer around when his brother returned, he drew a map of where the weapons were hidden and entrusted it to a close friend. That friend, Nya, was your father." "And...you're the younger brother, right?" Wu nodded, seeming a bit sad. "Yes, and the best chance we have of saving your brother and stopping mine, is if I train you to become a ninja, and once you are more trained we shall set out to retrieve the weapons before my brother." Nya took a moment to think, before nodding determinedly. "I'll do it, if it's to help Kai, I'll become a ninja." "Excellent, then follow me." Wu said as he began walking, Nya followed behind him, with a worried look on her face. Why I've done it will become clear later, or if not I'll point it out. This isn't, and most chapters won't be named after an episode, because at least for the first few episodes, they cram a lot into each episode so this only covers about a 4th of the first episode, and I'll be expanding a lot on some of the things they only just brush over, so one of the chapters for each episode might be titled the episode title, but most won't be, and I just want you to keep in mind: 1 chapter ≠ 1 episode. Also any fanart, constructive criticism, or tips are always welcome! <3 ∆~| main characters this chapter |~∆ Kai Smith: darkish brown spiky hair, somewhat resembling a flame. He is the older of the Smith Siblings, very protective of Nya, and can be hotheaded and impulsive. Nya Smith: straight short black hair, and red lipstick are her defining features. The younger of the two, she's more intelligent and much calmer than her brother. She's also the elemental master of fire. Wu: looong white beard and moustache, wears an unusual hat, but is bald underneath (beard, moustache, and hat are visible on the prologue thumbnail). Younger brother of Garmadon, he is the teacher/Sensei of the ninja team, and the one who brought them together. He's very wise, has a good sense of humour, but can get frustrated easily when the ninja don't listen. He's the elemental master of creation (not canonically confirmed, but he definitely HAS an elemental power.) Samukai: leader of the undead skeleton army, he's the only one of them with four arms, and is also taller than the others. Evil, serves King Garmadon, doesn't have much else of a personality, same with the other skeletons. ,¿What is Eight Fates?` it's my Ninjago AU (Alternate Universe) story! However, even if you haven't watched Ninjago I think you could still enjoy it! May be somewhat confusing, though I'll try to make things as clear as possible. My inspo was a meme on pin where Lloyd, Nya, Skylor, and Pixal started a group chat called 'the core four' as well as another peice of art on there for an AU called 'exchanged fates' or something, but I couldn't find much information on it and from the Image it did not seem to be the people I have chosen switching. Also my mind of course. :)
