i couldn't think of the name of this for literal months, and all i could even think of is this ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ from 1840-1867 (DO NOT COMMENT IT) if yall like this enough then ill make a third game for newbies who don't know history and wanna know what's going on: the year is 1840. the united states is expanding greatly, officially becoming a great power. britain is on the rise, although for the foreseeable future not doing well. russia is dominating the century, and no one cares about hawaii. meanwhile mexico is struggling. it's only been 30 years straight on the dot since its independence. texas recently stole independence from mexico and is planning to join the americans. california is about to revolt, and the continent is on the edge of war. music: civilization v ost - enrico dandolo peace theme tutorial: -in the top right directly is the year. it starts at 1840 and once it becomes 1866, it will ask you if you want to stop playing. it goes up every 20 seconds. -near the top right is the money. depending if you're mexico or usa (15000 or 25000) you will get different money. you are able to buy churches in infrastructure, and different kinds of troops in army. -your army is your military; what defends your nation. you can buy infantry for 600, cavalry for 750, and cannons/artillery for 1000. infantry do the least damage, cavalry in the middle, and cannons do the most. -in order to declare war, you need a casus, which is latin for "reason". you can do a casus by clicking the "create casus" button in the province panel. in order to conquer a province, you need the casus for it, and your enemy needs to own it. you can't declare war on britain in order to take louisiana y'know -press q for settings inspired by eu4, brothers in arms, and empire europa. some code was taken from empire europa, so props to @mini_monsters improvements from the previous game: -actual good music -wars actually work -code is actually working -army can be used -more provinces (alaska and hawaii) -civil war actually happens -you can go to war with britain -ending year is changed by one more -you can humiliate rivals for money -no balance -you can stop playing -texas now exists -california now exists -more nations basically basically everything has improved.
