Eventually, the soft rock erodes, causing a drop to appear, and the water falls, forming a waterfall. Abrasion and hydraulic action form a deep plunge pool at the bottom of the waterfall, which erodes the soft rock. When this happens, the hard rock above the plunge pool eventually collapses, causing the waterfall to retreat downstream slowly, and after many years, forming a gorge. #art #education #nuke #cool
